When we get married, the wife "takes on" the name of the husband. She now has the husband's name. When we get baptized, we take on the name of the father, son and the HS.

I was taught in church that the “us” was proof of the Trinity. Those who don’t believe in the Trinity, who are the “us” in this verse? I’m curious

I believe in the Trinity but I believe God is one and this is not an instance of the Trinity. I believe there is not enough evidence to say for sure who the "us" is but it is likely angels and God already has people that look like us on other worlds. If one believes that Caucasians, Atlanteans, and Orientals are all from other planets then it bears that out as a distinct possibility.
