And the Dead and Loving It comedy was brilliant imo.
It's going to suck when Mel Brooks dies. Everything he's done has been brilliant, imo.
But not vampire movies with angst ridden, raging hormone, teenage lovers.
I want to gut you and turn you into haggis and feed you to a pig just for bringing that up. :D
I like some romance movies. I guess I'm the weird one here.

... just not "The Notebook"
That movie was just dumb. The only reason it had a plot, at all, was because dude had some terrible coping skills.

I can't get into Japanese anime.

I used to love it in my youth, but I just can't get into it these days.

It just seems to be derivative of some young teen with untapped potential being the one hero that can solve everything.

I will cast my vote for romance. Not that it doesn't appeal to me at all. I have my "girly" moments and just want some vapid epic love story and some chocolate (and rum obviously.) And snuggle in to watch/read/whatever. But generally speaking that's the genre I interact with the least. I was also going to vote Westerns until I realized I have a soft spot for them. Not because I like the genre specifically. But my dad would watch them religiously when I was growing up, so there's a sense of nostalgia there. And I am highly anticipating Read Dead 2 (please don't drop the ball Rockstar!! Please!!)
I think it's less about genre than it is about quality though. I tend to read/watch/play anything that piques my interest, regardless of things like genre. Though I favour Fantasy and Sci Fi.

Rigged poll!
I can get into all of'm.

But if you had an option for <weepie woman's movie>, I'd have picked it.
I second this. Although there might be one or two that fits my "guilty pleasure" category.

I dunno. Isn't that the basic plot to like 99% of all slasher flicks? Or am I supposed to sympathize with the teenage twits in those vamp films?

Eastwood's "Unforgiven" is amazing however, though not your garden variety "oater".
3:10 to Yuma is also quite wonderful.
Eastwood did "Unforgiven" so well that few have had the courage to even try a western, lately.

Some are far better done than others, eg, Nightmare on Elm Street.
Yes, there are teens, but it's not about their romantic needs being
fulfilled....it's about them being slashed to pieces.

True dat.
Although, ironically enough, the recent remake of Nightmare put me to sleep.

I didn't watch it.
No wanna sully me memory of the original.

But regarding remakes, I'm not opposed.
Even The Maltese Falcon (with Bogart) was a remake of a remake.
And the new Death Wish (with Bruce Willis) looks to be better than the original.

Remakes are fine with me. I mean even Shakespeare remade older works. But some are better than others.
