Girls and boys and what are we doing wrong?

All of my room was clean, except for a chair that I put all of my previously worn clothes on. I accumulated quite the pile until laundry day.
My husband does that...

And behind the door. And in piles in front of his dresser. Sometimes on mine.
It does. Groupthink probably played into most of the boys joining in though.
Possibly. Most want to fit in, especially at that age.

The powers that be had mercy enough to make me unaffected by such things as mess. They must have had enough insight to know I wouldn't find order.
My friend, of many years, a fiercely intelligent woman, spends half her life looking for stuff around her home, she even asks me if I've seen things she wants. I do not understand how she lives like that, dishes in the sink, dirty mugs on tables, stuff, just on the floor!
I have to resist the urge to tidy up every time I go around, because it irks me!

If you ever get the urge to tidy up, feel free to drop by! I won't stop you! :D

Nevetheless, this does not explain their actions.

For example, the girls cooked regularly. The boys had one cooked meal, and mostly subsisted on junk food. What we basically saw was boys acting infantile, unable to really take care of themselves. I don't think that has any relationship to how much time boys spend outside.

Did you watch the two videos of the results?
Actually I find it unreasonable to go to the trouble of cooking if there is junk food lying around. Maybe girls think differently, I dunno. 5-6 days of bring cooped up with other boys in a house would be the absolutely worst experience I can think of as a kid. I am surprised the house was still standing at the end actually.

I will watch the video. I was talking more about the bullying and fighting part.

A UK make of Vacuum cleaner. Pretty good one too!

Ah! We don't have him on this side of the pond. 'Hoover' is more likely to be your guy over here.

I've only got a very small vacuum; only one rug in the house.

Actually I have no carpets either, just many washable rugs and mats. Carpets are unhygienic in my opinion. For my floors, I have Mr mop and some Pine scented disinfectant. When I think about it, I might be a little too enthusiastic about tidying up and cleaning products. Probably something childhood related. I know it annoys my friends. When I force them all to use coasters and plates, and no shoes in the house.

I'm fine with observing other's tidiness practices when at their house. Though, anyone who complains about my house will be promptly put to work.

I don't wear shoes in the house, either. But I also don't wear them outside. So it defeats the tidy aspect.

I think one of the few correct things the German government did in the 1930's was implement summer camps for kids, boys and girls. They learned discipline and physical fitness. This helped the kids behave more rationally since they had strict guidance and uniform standards.
The serious ****? They were taught blind and unyielding loyalty to the party(which included murdering those those deemed useless eaters), so much so that the Hitler Youth were some of the last Germans who still fought on.
