O.K you narrowed it down that's good. That leaves me and lots of females I know out. Most adult women have at least one child in their lifetime..Even if they are single.
Well I'm certainly not trying to leave anyone out. That is why I said you can use the word women or females, whatever suits your fancy.

It is good we having this discussion. So does the word woman usually apply to those with children? I would say not.

All I know is i like women, girls, females, etc. I didn't think this would become an argument over use of terminology because I thought most people had a fairly decent amount of sense or common knowledge.

Nor did I think this would become a debate over what constitutes as philosophy because just about anything be regarded as philosophy, it just needs a subject that can be further psychoanalyzed if you will with free thoughts or freely thinking about the subject matter at hand.

Girls/Women are fine...I guess. I mean, they are 50% of the world population and aren't going away anytime soon. So I suppose we'll just have to learn to live with them whether we like it or not.

So...they're a-okay in my book. :D

No, not really. Sometimes we colloquially refer to someones opinion or outlook as "a philosophy", as in, "hey man, pass me that joint and I'll tell you my philosophy on life"; but that has nothing to do with philosophy as a subject-matter-which is, presumably, what this sub-forum is for. Since this thread probably belongs in the General Discussion or "Jokes/Pics/Whatever" sub-forum, you may as well have placed it in the Hinduism sub-section or the Science vs. Religion debate section as here, since it has no more to do with philosophy than it does with Hinduism or evolution.

I don't view women or philosophy of women as being a joke. I take it rather seriously.

That's nice for you. On the other hand, some of us prefer to see threads at least remote concerned with philosophy in the philosophy section (what a crazy idea!). If I wanted to read jokey threads about nothing, I'd go to the general discussion section.

I think women deserve more credit and recognition than they get.

Do you think differently?

Every household already has an average credit card debt of $50,000. It is a national catastrophe ! And you think they should be given more ?

I still think the philosophy of females should be taught all around the world to those who wish to learn more about women.

Well I’m definitely not referring to children.
By girl(s) I am referring to anyone that is age appropriate, single and doesn’t have children.
If some people are more comfortable using the word women then that is fine. Whatever works for you I guess. The word Female can be used too, if that helps some of you overcome your indifferences. :D
In that case, I tend to get along better with girls (as in women in general) then with boys (as in men in general). But I also have to be a little boring and agree with Gjallarhorn :p.

Referring to an adult with a term properly applied to a child is an insult. You wouldn't address an adult male as "boy" unless you were trying to degrade him or put him in his place.
The same applies to females. The fact that "girl" still persists among the politically backward is a testament to the status differential that, unfortunately, still persists between the sexes.
I stopped referring to women as 'chicks' and 'girls' by the late sixties, but apparently the last half century of social progress has bypassed some people.

Just thought this would be a good topic for the philosophy section.

What do you think about girls? Are they sexy, lame or totally awesome?
I like my Transformers action figures collection better, if I'd be cornered to choose between girls and my favorite toys.
I still think the philosophy of females should be taught all around the world to those who wish to learn more about women.
I thought that's what graffiti in the men's room, playboy magazine, and brothels are for. To serve as an in depth and detailed academic coverage of the complexities of the female creature.

Or, one could actually take the time and listen to a female speak for herself.

I live in a house with three females. My issue isn't listening to females speak for themselves. It's trying to get a word in edgewise, and not getting summarily outvoted on everything from family outing destinations, appropriate clothing, tv channels, and what colour my next car should be.
