Global Warming?

I've read or watched videos, debates and videos by quite a few of these dissenters. Most have an obvious bias, and religiousor industry affiliation, work in fringe disciplines, use faulty data or simply misrepresent the facts.
They're constantly being debunked by real experts.

Hard to believe we're still having the conversation at all. (Just as a huge chunk of Canada's largest ice shelf broke off.)

Yes.
Evidence seems to have absolutely no impact on certain demographics.
We have actual, serial photos of shrinking glaciers; disappearing mountain snowcaps, tundra snowcover and sea ice over the years. We have measurable temperatures and sea level rise. We have advancing desertification. We have records of greenhouse gas concentrations.

These are all observations, not computer simulations. If climate deniers refuse to believe their own eyes, what hope is there?

Although it is warming, I'm not sure if we can predict disaster as much as some folks want to believe. In some cases, (like here) the warming means more agricultural diversity, and more food. With larger surface area of water, there is more rain. Rising water levels for high population cities is a concern, but the Netherlands solved that problem centuries ago. I don't know. Wait and see.

For some Pacific Islanders it will be a disaster as the glaciers continue to recede and the ice caps continue to melt and Greenland and Antarctica become greener.

Who told you that? Or is it just something you dreamed up?
No I am not in a dream state like yourself believing in fantasy. Humans are out of balance in our world. Uncontrolled population growth, increasing temperature causing to rapid changes in the environment for adaptation, excessive waste, destruction of biodiversity, destruction of the life we depend on. If you cannot see what this equates to than you never understood science at all. Ignorance to what is happening is equating to humans suicide.

You talk about ignorance and then give the scriptures as the cause of all of the problems in this world. Such simplistic thinking doe not suit someone with even an ounce of intelligence. Do you want to rethink that?

No but you need to rethink your attitude. Ignorance is when someone ignores what is happening for something they want to believe. Such simplistic thinking is unfortunately too common for those who take the bible as absolute fact. Do you want to rethink your attitude towards climate change. You are intelligent so why do you deny the reality?

Those made by coral reefs.
Right. Thanks. Do any have significant populations?

I think low cities like Miami will take a real beating too, unless the Netherlands solution is used, but they'd better start pretty soon on that one.

Except that areas like the Sahara are increasing in size. Every city, town and village that grows eliminates areas of life that sustain us. The increasing waste that must be buried converts land that is productive to land that is nonproductive. So what happens when a population outstrips its food source?

That has already happened, I think.

There are a significant number of cities that are near sea level. But what do people do when they are displaced? As each problem compounds another there is a point when the land cannot sustain the population.

I'm certainly no global warming denier. There will be changes. I'm just not so sure all of them will be negative. Time will tell. Humans have been a resilient lot for a long time.

I only hope so. Do not mean to rant but we are running out of time if we want to have a world for our children's children. We can change things but we need to work together globally to protect us from our worst enemy. ourselves.

But will the Yanks do anything about the nuclear mess they created as climate change takes it's effect, or does Trump etc just pray "God bless America and God damn the rest of the world" with hand on heart?
US nuclear waste dump in the Pacific, threatened by rising seas, is leaking

Sorry for our mess. As one of those Yanks I can only apologize for the mess we have created. Oh and also very sorry for our current leader or anti leader we have. There are some of use trying hard to influence others to take responsibility but there is a strange anti-science atmosphere permeating around the us. Only hoping for change in November. Love the wine, beer, birds and still see Irwin as a hero from down under.
