God Sent Himself To Die On The Cross

Muffled

Jesus in me
Christianity says God (the Father) sent God (the Son) to sacrifice himself to God so that he can forgive us our sins and save us from himself (God's judgement). How can this make sense?

"The idea that God could only forgive our sins by having his son tortured to death as a scapegoat is surely, from an objective point of view, a deeply unpleasant idea. If God wanted to forgive us our sins, why didn't he just forgive them? Why did he have to have his son tortured?" (R. Dawkins)
He did but people still didn't believe Him so He went to more extreme measures.

And let's be clear, the Fall and the resulting sin was all what God created and allowed to happen, so it's all on God.
There was no Fall or resulting sin so nothing is on God.
It is all on Christians who created that false doctrine.

You are aware that I'm an atheist, yes? Sometimes I clarify the Bible interpretations of Christians from their standpoint, not because I believe it.

Objectively you are correct, and I agree. My comment was in response to what most Christians believe and claim is truth.

Yeah, but to be fair those traditional interpretations were made before the age of reason and science. The confounding thing is why modern people will adopt these obsolete interpretations in the 21st century. I can see a Christianity that is laregly symbolic, as it would actually be more consistent with reality, and probably actually helpful for believers.
