God's Children

That God is a superorganism whose body is the cosmos.

interesting, that reminds me of a thought I had the other day...
if millions and millions of cells working together make up a body, and millions of bodies working together make up a government, would you not consider a government to be a living organism?

So do you believe that we are like cells or parts of cells in comparison to God?

If that is so I can see how you would find the Bible so confusing and contradictory, to you the Bible is pretty much just popular vote or opinion is it not?

Who said I found it confusing?

Yep.

Who said I found it confusing?

So do you believe God can have children?
And do you believe God can speak to man?
I find it kind of difficult to try and communicate
With the cells in my body. I doubt if I were to try and ask the skin cell on my thumb how his day was that it would be able to understand me.

It could be useful for Christians to see everyone as their 'brothers' and 'sisters', in the same way Buddhists try to see all sentient beings as 'their Mother from a previous life'.

It's to help with extending love and compassion to others.

To me it means that Jesus is not the "only" son of God.

So yeah, we are all God´s children in my book :)

Your body tells you when you need rest, sleep, bathroom.

The body talks all the time. Ever get a headache?

When it grows up, sure.

Not exactly, for precisely the reasons you say.

So you don't think Christ actually came said follow me, taught how, then ascended into heaven? What do you think actually happend?
No, I don't.

In general terms, what I think is most likely is that a regular human religious leader gained a following and then after his death, his followers built up a mythology around him, maybe drawing some of it from other sources (I mean apart from the Jewish mythology that the story is steeped in)... but this is just supposition on my part. If someone came up with a compelling case for how Jesus wasn't a historical figure at all and was entirely mythic, I might be convinced if the argument was strong enough.

So I see you are an atheist, so I suppose your answer would be a simple no when I ask you if God can have children.
