Will they learn how he cried and whined and mommy came to his defense when the consequences came?

Well, I guess depending on what kind of government is in power, she could be portrayed as Ma Barker or Sarah Connor.

In this case, I don't think Britain or France would choose to support the Q-Anon Shaman, but you never know.
I have my doubts because they don't believe many of the wacky things Americans believe. All this dumb crap I believe makes it easier for additional dumb crap to be believed

We don't formally tolerate such bull****. Mess with the system and attack it and you won't get away with it. Especially when it's over a lie that defrauds and defames a fair and legit election.
I agree there should be prosecutions.
But I sense that many (lefties) perceive that it was
a greater & more organized threat than it actually was.
And this genius was their leader?

It would be useful in an investigation hastened the waning
of Trump's power. But that seems an unreasonable hope.

It seems that an insurrection would require intelligent people, military discipline, training, planning, organization - none of which seemed evident here.

If you look closely at those who seem to be in the forefront, it is evident they were aided by or possessed military training.

If it were seen to be non-partisan -- which I believe the Democrats rightly ceded during negotiations on how to set it up -- it might come up with something that a majority of Americans could accept as truthful. And that, in my view, would be a very, very valuable outcome.
The republicans no longer care at all what the "majority of Americans" think or want. All they care about is holding on to the crazy 1/3rd of Americans that vote for them no matter what.

They may receive some backing from Russia, the distant foreign power du jour, now that Putin styles himself the protector and patron saint of Western homophobes and xenophobes.

The USA was one of the last major nations to outlaw slavery, so that the Confederates were trying to get help from France or England was a long shot.

What are your thoughts about the efforts of Republicans in most states who are passing new voting laws that may, or will, hinder the ability for citizens to cast votes? o you think this will be affective in allowing Republicans to win elections where they may not win otherwise?

He seems to be acknowledged as a "face" of qanon. He's just the dummy who doesn't know snakes from dildos about Vikings who people seemed to notice the most.

They know they still can't win elections with only that crazy 3rd of the public that will vote for them no matter what they do. So they have to lie, cheat, and steal to win. And since their "base" doesn't care that they lie, cheat, and steal to win elections, that's exactly what they'll do.

And why not? It's been working for them for over 30 years, now.

And anyway, if that doesn't work, why not another attempted violent coup? Obviously, there will be no repercussions for it.

That's highly unlikely. Unlikely enough I'll say it won't happen.

Some of those are useful things to address.
Other seem political.
And we must never talk about politics when investigating these incidents. That, my friends, would be political, and if there is anything that should at no point be talked about when it comes to investigating an attempted political coup by a political faction aligned with a particular political leader, it is politics!

I think its just a waste of time.

Of course, you do. For consistency, did you also think the congressional hearing on Benghazi was "just a waste of time"?

What are Republicans so afraid of? One thing they are not afraid of is being seen as hypocrites.

There are other more pressing things to pursue then some pathological obsession over a man who no longer is president.

Trump can't 'hurt you' anymore.

Will the investigation answer why an unarmed combat veteran was shot and killed by the Capitol police?

This is about more than Trump. We should know more the details about what happened.

Could it possible be the fact the mob was violent and invading a federal building?

Ashli Babbitt was unarmed and did not do anything that warranted being shot to death.
