Government fails Oher, Rich Christian family saves him

Done here.
This proves my point. The company is in business to produce a quality product not to provide Americans with good jobs and benefits.

Are you advocating the business make purposeful stupid business decisions to please your sense of compassion for your cousin?
It may be a good business in the short term. In the long term, it's going to be hard to keep this consumer society going if there isn't a large base of consumers to buy their shoddy, foreign-slave-labor-made products at premium prices.

This is such a silly talking point without a shred of empirical evidence behind it. But I am sure it helps fuel your self-righteous indignation.
There's plenty of empirical evidence behind it, but what's the point? You haven't shown any interest the realities of the situation; you just have an ideological position supported solely by your idea of what ought to be true.

Hi Smoke,

This is such a contradictory point. Should countries that are poorer than us not be allowed have businesses? If your response is that they should be paid a 'fair' wage it is a moot point because the country is poor in the first place. The poor country isn't going to have a selfish entitled union forcing people from working because the country is poor to begin with. They are not going to have all the regulations that we have because they are a poor country.

Your solution is to make them stay poor. In your world, your cousin keeps his job and no one in the poor country has any jobs (except for little girls prostituting themselves). This is your compassion.

I say let people exchange goods and services freely. You are against this. The poor countries should just stay poor in your world. This is what protectionism and unionism does. But it certainly won't stop you looking down your nose at conservatives with your faux compassion and your silly talking points.

I'm the only one who presented any empirical evidence in this conversation. You have your cousin and that is sufficient for you.

Hi Smoke,

I'm sorry, but this reminds me so much of a scene from Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay:

Ron Fox: Do you have a problem with the way I run the show, Beecher?
Dr. Beecher: I'm just saying I looked through the files on Harold Lee and Kumar Patel. They were both born and raised in New Jersey. Other than a couple of traffic tickets, they're clean.
Ron Fox: Oh, right! That's why they just broke out of prison!
Dr. Beecher: It's not even clear that they should've been there in the first place!
Ron Fox: [growing flustered] Shouldn't have...
[walks over to desk and picks up a picture of a little girl]
Ron Fox: You see this cute little white girl, Beecher?
Dr. Beecher: Yeah.
Ron Fox: Do you want her to get raped and murdered?
Dr. Beecher: Of course not.
Ron Fox: You sure? Cause this is America. Do you want to rape America?
Dr. Beecher: No.
Ron Fox: Then stop ****ing with me!
[throws picture against wall]

If you feel like it, you can check out the clip here. It starts about 1:45 in. Just be warned that it does contain some vulgar language.

In fact, this is a very good example of the twisted logic behind many of your posts, Joe, and the posts and arguments of other conservatives.
