You may be jumping to conclusions. I have plenty to look forward in the here and now. I look forward to every day that I can walk with the Lord Jesus on this earth. I didn't always walk with him, so I can appreciate the difference. It's interesting that those who have only been on one side of the fence knows what's on the other.
I know that people will not go away until he appears again to clean set up a new heaven and a new earth. Global warming will not kill off all people and leave the earth intact.
This is what God told Noah:
Gen 8:22,
While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
Until Jesus reappears, there will never be an earth without people. Somebody has to plant seed and harvest. That would be people. Science may say other wise, but as I have pointed out many times, about half of science in the past has been proven wrong. What indication do we have that that will not be the case in the future? If history is a guide, we have no indication of that whatsoever.
And yes, my descendants and I will rot in the ground if Jesus does not reappear before we die. So what! He'll raise us up from the dead with brand new incorruptible bodies.
