Harsh Truth: If Intelligent Design is Untestable . . .

Partly because the questions are either loaded or don't make sense. For example why would they attempt to use a dating method that they know won't work? If they used a method that they knew would be inaccurate that would simply create an inaccurate result. Often times they must use several different methods to check and double check their results. If they find it to be erroneous they then have to re-do the test again to make sure that they get the same answer and then double check that answer with other methods. It can actually be a very tedious and time consuming process to accurately date something if there is an error. That is why they have perfected it to the point there are few errors.

But what is the "basic question" other than "why didn't they use test "x"" ?

Nope this was the original question:
, how they got the millions of years of dating the fossils they’ve found in New Mexico? By what standard of studies or age assignments did they compare it from?

And you don't think consensus has no bearing among churches and Christians.

A large part of church history showed that what their belief are based on consensus among church leaders, which had little to with the real world with these supernatural miracles and superstitious of invisible God, Devil and angels.

I really don't have tenets - I am agnostic.
No principles to follow.

Where is the 66 millions of years came from before the KT extinction if 14C dating says “Researchers have found a reason for the puzzling survival of soft tissue and collagen in dinosaur bones - the bones are younger than anyone ever guessed. Carbon-14 (C-14) dating of multiple samples of bone from 8 dinosaurs found in Texas, Alaska, Colorado, and Montana revealed that they are only 22,000 to 39,000 years old.”
I remember this one. Its because the ones doing the dating had the results thrown out because of fraudulent results.

So can the question be meaningfully rephrased as "how do we know carbon dating works?"
I don't know. That is why I asked for clarification. Carbon dating is only accurate around 100k years. So, c14 dating doesn't really even apply here. You are already dealing with small amounts because of how c14 gets into living organic material.

I am not sure what the question is or to which fossils in New Mexico the post is referring. There are so many unanswered questions that I figured the poster was just looking for a basic explanation of dating methods. I partially assumed this because the question was preceded with the phrase "I honestly have no idea." It is a little hard to go into an elaborate explanation with someone when they have "no idea" about dating methods.

You said U-Pb dating was the latest method and technology... It's actually one of the oldest and most well-known.
What I meant is from K-Ar and Rb-Sr from the 50s. Uranium to lead dating is the latest as there is no new method to replace it.

No principles to follow.
No principle?

My principles (including my morality) are lot better than most Christians. You don't have to be Christian or any other religious person, to be principled.

You don''t know me, so don't judge me, you pious hypocrite!

Jesus told you (not you personally, but Christians in general) not to judge (or persecute) others, and it is one of my favorite teachings from Jesus...and yet it seemed to be the hardest one for some Christians to follow.

Ya, and I've been told so many times that I'm going to hell that bought a speedo and am looking forward to the trip.

They've tested for the collagen protein and that's how they found the carbon and tested it with 14C. IOW, there is no such thing as 66 millions of years doctrines by the evolutionist. Carbon can be tested accurately up to 0.001 pMC, i.e., up to 74000 years.

Radiocarbon dating is only reliable up to about 50k years. There are techniques that can extend that up to about 75,000 years. However to measure the age of things that are even older we use different techniques. If you attempt to use the radiocarbon dating technique on something millions of years old the result will be incorrect. That is well understood.

What is the question? Let’s go back to my question. What are your main tenets?

I really don't have tenets - I am agnostic.
No principles to follow.

Let’s define “tenet”

1.tenet

[ ˈtenit ]

NOUN

noun: tenet · plural noun: tenets

a principle or belief, especially one of the main principles of a religion or philosophy:

Scientists have known for decades, the limitations of C14, so it is never used when they know that it might older than 60,000 years old.

I don't understand why creationist's keep bring radiocarbon dating, when there are more reliable dating methods available.

Do they think scientists are stupid or something?

Even Behe would not used this creationist arguments against people who accept evolutionary biology, because it is a terribly weak and desperate argument or attack that often backfired on these stupid creationist's that bring them up time and time again.

Tenet usually have religious undertone...And this being a religious education forum, I would assume when you say tenet, I thought you might mean religious "dogma", and agnosticism don't have any dogma.

If you want to ask me if I have any principle, moral or ethic that I have, then used one of these words instead of tenet.

Let me ask you something if you don’t mind. What are your main tenets? It’s really hard to argue with someone who is just going for a ride based on consensus.

Here are my evidences:

GE 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Where is the evidence of the earth and the heavens?

GE 2:7 Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

Where is the evidence of man?

Where is your evidence that you came from an ape? Did someone found the missing link already?

Here are my evidences:

In the Beginning, Ahura-Mazda made the sky of metal, shining and bright.

Then he created the first man, called Gayomard, tall and handsome.

Then the Space Monkeys came to Earth from another Galaxy and the Upanishads were written because, Thor, the god of Thunder, had a problem with Zeus's wife Hera because she was such a bad example as a High Priest that no one would ever believe she was actually a snake-charmer from Arabia. Thankfully, their kids had enough insight to ask Jupiter for help when conquering the trial of Hercules. If it wasn't for Jupiter's son Amon-Ra, then how would the Minotaur ever had set the Moon in the sky to help guide us at night?
