Miracles (and I mean actual miracles, not things like sunsets, though I appreciate the sentiment that was being expressed) happen pretty frequently in my faith. One happens every single year. We don't make a huge deal out of them because we consider such things as personal signs rather than matters of doctrine, but believe me there are many that still occur including healings, incorrupt bodies, myrrh streaming icons, people speaking in or understanding languages never learnt etc., etc. God hasn't toned things down. Just because you don't know of them doesn't mean they don't happen.

James' post is a great example of the principle of faith behind miracles. There must be faith first or God will not give us miracles. James' Church obviously has faith. Mine does too. Where faithful people are, you will find miracles. Where there is no faith, there will be no miracles.
Matt 9:29
29 Then touched he their eyes, saying,
According to your faith be it unto you.
Matt 15:28
28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman,
great [is] thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
Matt 17:19-20
19 Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
20 And Jesus said unto them,
Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Matt 13:58
58 And he did not many mighty works there
because of their unbelief.
