Christianity , like Islam, are very bigoted Religions that display/portray the epitome of hatred for infidels/heretics/pagans/unbelievers etc. (At least , total hatred for them if they die in that state without converting). You don't torture people forever and ever, unless you severely hate them.

It's why I left Christianity. I saw the bigotry and hate constantly. Just go to a Christian website and tell them you pray to the "Queens of Heaven", and see what some of the responses are, about the Kami I cherish being Demons.

Look at all the Biblical verses where God justifies complete genocide against people based on ethnicity or different Religious beliefs.

It's just wrong and goes against my conscience!

Threatening to torture people for ever, most of the world even, is worse than any form of hate speech, and it is very intrinsic to the nature and essence of Christianity.

To what extent should good people who don't like hatred and bigotry, take a stand against the hate-speech and bigotry in the Bible and Quran?

A lot of people are unaware of it, until it is brought to their attention. Some of the gruesome tortures amputations of limbs, crucifixion, and mutilations in the Quran and burning of infidels are so bad, it fills me with darkness to read them.

If you want the quotes and verses, I can provide them, or you can Google it.

I consider Muhammad and his daughter Fatima , peace be upon them, to be my close friends, but I can't object more to some of what is attributed to the Prophet, and his violent aggressive lifestyle, where he personally decapitated people and destroyed everything sacred to Polytheists, repeatedly condemning them to eternal torture in Quranic verses, destroying their shrines that are sacred to them, robbing people of basic liberties, and beyond.

Saudi Arabia, the Capitol of Islam, is run by an extremely bigoted regime where you won't find a single synagogue, Church, or Polytheist temple. It's forbidden and outlawed.

Jewish (as well as Christian and other non-Muslim) religious services are prohibited from being held in Saudi Arabia. That is total tyranny and bigotry!

I believe the Prophet was an orphan with a tough life who had nobody, and did indeed love God, and I love him, I just disagree with some of his behaviors.

I have met many orphans growing up and as an adult in jails, institutions, and ghettos, and they can be very violent angry people compared to those who had parents who nurtured, cared for, and gave them a healthy environment , with good role models.

But should we really be tolerant of pure hatred, bigotry, and hate-speech in the Bible and Quranic text??

The only thing necessary for hatred and bigotry to triumph in our world is for good people to remain silent, passive , and do nothing. Is that right or wrong?

In the poll, please choose the answer that you lean most towards.

Im saying speak up against and point out what is poisoning minds and stirring up hateful regimes and groups!

I'm not talking about censorship of books.
You speaking about how people understand the message in the different religious books because if you take 10 people, you will get 10 different answers to how they interpret the text they have read.
But because how a few people have misused the teaching and made it "extreme version" of the religious teaching it seems like people think everyone from that religion is evil, or that the religion in it self is evil.

If we censor one book, what's to stop us from censoring anything we don't like?
It's not censorship to call their crap out. The Bible and Quran both teach things widely regarded as hateful and immoral (because they are), and we shouldn't let them have a free pass just because it's religion. People should be made aware of these things and more pressure applied when such hate and violence is excused.

Torturing people and chronic hate speech for Polytheists , that I have repeatedly encountered in the Quran and Bible is just wrong.

I love Muslims and Christians. I don't think most are evil.

Most of the Quran is actually good. But there is a lot of hate and bigotry. Torturing someone forever is hatred, no matter how you interpret it.

CHICAGO PD show got censored cuz of police brutality. Won’t happen in big movies. Tv shows are pop culture and more mainstream. So we can pick and choose apparently

I have no problem with calling out the hate speech and would encourage it. I am not a fan of censorship. I do not even like it when they censor the works of Mark Twain because of his use of the N word (could I even write that here?) Call it out. Yes. Censor it. No.

It is true that some parts of the Quran do contain some very graphic explanations, I do not hide that.
And even many Muslims ask me how I can see so much love and compassion in Islam and in Quran, For me, the teaching and Sufism changed my way of thinking, and it changed my life from dreadful and worrying to happiness and compassion (unconditional love).
But if I see the news, and Taliban have killed or destroyed somewhere, to me that is not Islam I know. Because the only enemy I found is my own Ego, that is where I have jihad.
Of course, other Muslims may understand the teaching totally different than me, so they have to answer for their own understanding, that is not something I can do for them.

I'm against censorship but I'm especially against hypocritical censorship. Allow the Christians to quote Psalm 14:1 but also allow me to call them idiots.

I love humble Muslims. I used to wear a Kufi and pray at a mosque in Buffalo New York.

I am pleased with the work Allah has done in your life. :)

If every Muslim were as kind, meek, humble as you, I would say only good things about Islam.

Continue the path you are on and I bless you and pray for you on your journey to Spiritual perfection! :)

I believe that every Sufi or any other form of Muslim would benefit the world a lot if we first looked within our own mind, and worked to end our ego and reduce the attachments that we may have to this world, instead of telling everyone else what they should do. If I as a Sufi can not stand up to scrutiny from non-believers or people who hold a different belief than I do, and if I could not live the life I speak of as the good way to live, Who would I be then?

Allah is watching me every minute of my life, so I have to live to serve Allah but also spread love and compassion to this world. Islam today has a very broken name in this world because of all the wrong deeds made by those who become extremists, And even I do not hate any human being, the action and words those people do, that is to me not serving Allah but Shaitan (statan)

Well you can call it hate speech but it doesn't change anything if it's true. The truth hurts sometimes. I don't think speech should be banned. I support freedom of speech and religion. It's the first amendment. All this cancel culture is really evil. The people doing cancel culture mob tactics don't realize that they've been indoctrinated and activated like wind up toys to the bidding of the true ruling class behind the scenes. Wind them up and let them go. The programming will come out.

So if you don't like the Bible or the Quran then you don't have to read them; but don't try to ban books. You can't win anyway. People throughout history have tried their best to destroy and ban the Bible but they always fail. The blood of martyrs who died to distribute and keep this book in the hands of people have made the Bible even more cherished and precious.

The Bible does not create violent, angry people. It creates loving kind people who are willing to die to keep on printing and distributing Bibles.

You are very rich spiritually , and Allah, the Prophet, and the Muslims who have gone to their eternal reward, love you and watch over you. Of that I have no doubt

You are fighting a noble jihad and give Islam a good name. It is people like you the troubled sick world needs.

I can only stand in admiration and bless people like you, and I was always drawn to Sufi Islam.

I also very much love Fatima, Allah be pleased with her, and I believe she loves you and blesses/intercedes, and prays for you. I feel she is my close companion.

I love Islamic architecture, art, and even fashion. I love the Prophet too. Don't let my words discourage you.

Allah and Islam are doing a very positive work in your life. You are a great instrument for good in the world. It always touches my heart and moves me when I meet a good , humble, and charitable Muslim.

I'm very sad that people like you are not in control of the Islamic Theocracies and regimes that currently oppress hundreds of millions of people and rob them of basic liberties. :(

I would like to have met you in real life. Maybe we will meet if I get to heaven. :) Please pray that I do the will of God and stay sober.

I will pray for you. Allah be pleased with you, humble gentle soul! :greenheart:

You are wrong. The Bible has stirred up all kinds of hatred, bigotry, quarrels, violence, crusades, genocides, inquisitions, and even been used to justify slavery!

Condemning most of the world to hell for not accepting Jesus is pure cruelty, hatred, and bigotry!

And I never said ANYTHING about banning books!!

Again, thank you @Spiderman :)

People like me (as you called it) do not seek power over others :) In the way that I am not important in this :) The good teaching that I try to explain in RF is what is important. To be humble about where our own lack of wisdom still can be found and what I need to work on is also important to explain to others, so they do not believe that it is enough to believe in Allah and have faith. It is also all the inward hardships that are important to understand if one wishes to gain some form of wisdom from spiritual teaching.
Unfortunately, there are many who have the "need" of being in charge of other people's faith, to be in control of what others can and can not do. The question is: Is that truly the teaching from Allah?
To me, no that is not the teaching of Islam, One has to first master one's own Ego to see that others are more important than self, so that the seeking is not of this earth, but in search of Allah from within our own being.

It would be nice to meet you, and many others here in RF In real, and I do hope one day that it can be a possibility to make it happen :)

No it never did. But you forget that Satan twists scriptures to tempt people just like he tried to do with Jesus Christ in Luke ch. 4. But Jesus only response was to quote other scriptures. Because as Jesus said man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God shall man live.

So Satan's trick has always been to take scriptures out of context. But the proper response to the lies of Satan is that man should believe the testimony of the entire Word of God not just pick and choose.

The Bible for it's day was actually anti-slavery. When the new Testament was written slavery was a fact of life. There was a reason why Christianity was so popular among the slave class of the Roman empire.

Paul even says "be ye not slaves of men" (1 Corinthians 7:23) So although he did not ever encourage violent revolution; yet he taught that if you could obtain freedom from slavery then you should do so.

So the Bible never outrights condemns slavery because to do so would be a revolutionary act in those days; Christianity was not given for violent overthrows of the world order. It was given to save people's souls out of the world. The Bible is not given to save the world but to save people out of it.

But it does discourage slavery and there is no real justification for the existence of slavery if you believe what Jesus really taught which is "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"
Condemning most of the world to hell for not accepting Jesus is pure cruelty, hatred, and bigotry!
Jesus will judge fairly based on their deeds and he will show mercy when he can.
And I never said ANYTHING about banning books!!
Well you condemn it as hate speech and there are laws already existent against hate speech.
