He IS my President

My circle is full of folks from the left. Needless to say, today is a rough day for some. I keep seeing this "notmypresident" hashtag thrown around. Donald Trump is the president of the US, I am a citizen of the US, Donald Trump is my president. I didn't vote for him this time around. I am skeptical and cautious. With that said, he is my president. From now, he has a fresh start in my mind. Up until now, it was media, campaigning, rallies, etc. I am willing to let all of that go because now he is in the position to govern. A very different position to be in. I am hopeful but cautious.

I think for the trouble, he at least deserves the fair shake that we gave the rookie from Chiraq. :D

He has the potential to fail, as any, but we should certainly collectively hope for the best.

He is my president too. I didn't vote for him but I'll support him where I feel we need support with.

Everyone treats this like some black and white thing. I didn't support everything Obama did either.

Get over it and just start living your lives again, people. 4 years is not that long.

Your wrong to dismiss those things imo because, most of the power rest in the Congresses hands and the presidents power resides largely in the bully pulpit and in his nominations for cabinet and judicial nominations. He has already failed in those regards.

Both views are supported by the same devotion to the Presidency of the Untied States, and not so much the individual currently sitting in the White House. You have pulled on some sense of duty to the Presidency (not the individual) and they are doing the same. Both views seem completely justified in my eyes.

We can cautiously hope for the best and support the Presidency to that end, but even if Trump does well by our standards, that does not erase the doubts of his ethical character.

To wish success for someone that has the potential to be the next Adolf Hitler is not a very wise idea, is it???

Do you believe we'd mark it a "success" if things took a turn for the worse as you hint at? For the time being, his success adds to our success as a nation. And that's how anyone would judge "success" - whether his time spent helps the country achieve something better. So yes... I wish him all the success in the world.

Isn't it a bit obvious that few and far between would be those who would consider the second coming of Hitler as "success"?

Trump is a fascist, success for a fascist is to be dictator, we cannot wish for Trump to succeed, for for him to succeed is for America to lose.

Then I wouldn't consider his success as "success". You knew exactly what I was getting at, but chose instead to further your own smearing campaign instead of being the least bit positive. Way to go.

He is also a crude, dangerous, nativist scum and the likely benefactor of Putin's interference and Comey's irresponsibility.

On top of the above, I don't see what could possibly forgive his support for sexual assault. Yes, he might not turn out to be as bad as many expect him to be in a lot of areas--and I still doubt he's going to be much or any better than expected--but he's still someone who has committed sexual assault. Nothing is going to redeem that as far as presidential performance goes.

Donald Trumps success is accomplishing what he has set out to do, build a wall, ban Muslims, deport Mexicans, veto the ACA, eliminate regulations to protect the environment, reduce taxes for millionaires and corporations, reduce Social Security payments, privatize Medicare etc etc etc. All of these things are bad for America, wishing Trump success is wishing all these bad things to happen, if you support that, YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM.

Oh yeah I have been seeing that on twitter. If those who hate Trump and don't want him to be their president then they are welcome to move out of the U.S. No one is forcing them to live here.
