That is a good question. Simply transferring memories shouldn't actually change the person: we all form new memories all the time but we don't become someone else in the process. You could, in principle, make a person think they were someone else with this process by giving them false memories. It might even give them a false sense of guilt if you gave them the memory of a crime they never committed. So yes, that could be a pretty sticky situation to pass judgment over. Presumably, God would only hold us accountable for things that we actually did and actually intended to do.

Sergio Canavero talks about this, but he simplified his idea so much for the audience at TED that I'm not sure what he's talking about. :confused:
