I agree; I find the idea of Hell as a grave to be more understandable, but I was talking more about the place of punishment. :)

Place or a condition?

2nd Thess. 2 v 9 equates punishment with everlasting destruction.

So, the biblical 'punishment' is: destruction.

The wicked are: destroyed forever. - Psalm 92 v 7

The word 'Gehenna' has been translated into English as hellfire.
Gehenna was just a garbage pit outside of Jerusalem where things were destroyed and not kept burning forever. So, Gehenna is also a fitting symbol for destruction.

Like the choice Lucifer made, Hell is the self-chosen position of being away from God, the light. Nothing more, nothing less. No lakes of fire, no horrors other than those people impose on themselves.

The hope, the outcome of this, IMO, is that no matter how long it takes, an all-merciful and all loving entity would fully embrace anyone or anything that desires to come into its fold.

Jesus in me
God is going to be kind enough to lobotomize anyone who makes it to heaven, so we can all sit around drooling for eternity. YAY

Who said you wrre invited to enjoy anything?

This is not the case.

This also is not the case. You are on this earth after living many lives which you don't remember. Do you think of yourself as a drooling idiot? Heaven is not a destination; it is a good place to be to avoid evil.

God gives out of His loving nature and not necessarily in kind.

In my opinion, Hell, if it exists at all as anything beyond living in our own guilt in this lifetime -- is more like a Purgatory. I believe everyone gets to Heaven, eventually.

I am sure that God is seeking for everyone to come into harmony with Him but my experience although somewhat limited is that people don't learn from their mistakes and keep on resisting God.

There is no way to be away from God. He is everywhere.

As a psalm says the darkness is as the light to Him.

A wish fulfillment but not Biblical.

Hell is working out that people actually meant 'you are' when they type in 'your' or working out that an apostrophe (e.g. car's) means the plural of nouns nowadays.

God does embrace anyone who repents.- 2nd Peter 3 v 9 B.
Bible definition of the lake of fire is: second death.- Rev. 20 v 14

What is the 'Bible's hell' [sheol] ?
How is the biblical hell different from the non-biblical pagan hell myth ?

In Scripture, when was 'Lucifer' Satan ever in hell ?___________

Was Jesus in 'a self-chosen position' while Jesus was in hell?____________
-Acts 2 vs 27,31,32; Psalm 16 v10

Why was Jesus given the keys to unlock hell ?
- Revelation 1 v 18

I said there is no hell, but by that I meant that there is no eternal hell.

You could say all there are are purgatories.

Yes, according to Scripture there is no eternal hell because Jesus has the keys to unlock the Bible's hell [gravedom] according to Revelation 1 v 18.

What would sinless Jesus be doing in a purgatory ?
According to Acts [2 vs 27,31; Psalm 16 v 10] Jesus was in hell.

Do you 'know' or believe?
IF there is a hell, then it is the hell that we and those around is create here in this existence. So too if there is a heaven, it is the result of our actions and inactions.
