Hell: What do you think?

The horrifying flames devour you which God sent you to Hell... What d you think? A insane God or a truly just and loving God?
Isn't it like Nazis and Jews?
Nazis got the very best of the German world and Jews got the trash...
Same as Heaven and Hell.
Moses is livin' it up and Korah who rebelled against him is in the bin.
What you do? Do you believe in Heaven and Hell?

I do not believe in heaven or hell. When I die, I will be rotten away and eaten by bugs and join the natural circle of life. And my soul will be passed on and changed into whatever it needs to be next. Or it will be in balance with Tao, if I ever reach enlightenment.

No, I do not believe in a Christian Heaven or a Hell. But much like MV, either I will reach Nirvana, or something of me will go on until I do.

I'm with Master V and Maize on this one; no 'burning fires of hell, nor heaven' - just 'get a new life', and keep learning until you get it right.:)

Heaven and Hell are both real places. And you know something interesting? God doesn't send anybody to hell. We send ourselves there when we reject Jesus. Jesus Christ willingly suffered and died to take away our sins. Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord." We will go somewhere when we die, whether it be Heaven or Hell. And the only way into Heaven is if we are born again. John 3:3 "I tell you the truth! Anyone who is not born again will never enter the Kingdom of God!" The one and only way to Heaven is through Jesus Christ. No other religion will get you there. And I don't just base all my beliefs on what you would call "blind faith".
And Hell is so much worse then you can ever imagine. You will never die, but always be tortured. You will thrist but never drink. You will be tormented unceasingly and feel so much pain but never be relieved from it. One million years will not even be a tiny dent into eternity. And I don't know you guys, but I honestly don't want you to end up in hell.
While Heaven, on the other hand, is awesome! There will be no suffering or crying or death. There will be an eternity of happiness and peace. Nobody will labor in vain, but everybody will live forever will God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come!

Heaven is being able to be reincarnated and continue learning. Hell for me is the absence of suffering, of growth. Nirvana always appeared as hell to me.

I think the Christian version of heaven and hell is just a scare tactic. Now, if they made hell a place where people poked you with needles all day long... then I'd get a little worried. :D

in judism there is also no "hell". just if u do not follow the 613 miztvot than your soul will take longer to reach heaven. but no eternal hell fire and torment. but as i see it, if everyone just lives the best we can (like don't kill or steal or do other stuff like that) than no one really has to worry about hell, just how i think.

I guess the way I see it, if there wasn't an afterlife and a reason to do something with one's life buyond working, paying taxes, and dieing, the problems one has to deal with just to keep on living aren't worth the hassle. in other words, I'd rather be dead then live in this problem plagued planet.

One of my favorite books in the Bible is the book of Ecclesiastes. In ch. 6 verses 3-5, it states : If a man fathers a hundred children and lives many years, however many they may be, but his soul is not satisfied with good things, and he does not even have a proper burial, then I say, "Better the miscarriage than he, for it comes in futility and goes into obscurity. It never sees the sun and it never knows anything; it is better off than he."

Now, don't get me wrong, I am not trying to state that that is the absolute proof that God, Heaven, or Hell, exist although I do believe they exist and have other avenues of trying to prove their existence. I do believe however, that we could not properly describe heaven or hell in a physical sense since they they are not physical places and that attempts at describing heaven and hell in the Bible are just ways for God to describe to us as finite physical beings the best way to get a grip on the concept of what these places are.

These are just some personal thoughts I have on the subject at hand. It's just something to think about.

Sincerely.

I've heard it stated a couple of ways, the biblical "hell" seems drawn from previous religions "hells" it can either be a place of eternal torture or just a seperation from someones "god(s)", I don't believe in either. I think we have the ability to create hell or damn near heavan right here on earth while we are alive when it really counts- it's our choice, not a "happy" biscuit or a "soggy" one (LOL) after death.

I just wanted to make another contribution to this thread with the comparison of hell to the Nazi treatment of Jews and others. I find it ironic to compare the idea of hell with what the Nazi's did especially when compared with the contrast of how both ideas are looked at in the scope of "justice".

Anyone who truly knows the reasons behind what the nazi's did in the concentration camps or has read "Meine Kompf" should be able to tell you that it would be very hard to sell the idea that it is ok to torture and kill people in that fashion simply because they made a good "escape goat" for why Germany was having worse economical problems then the U.S. at the time when the Nazi's were coming to power. And yet, out of fear produced by the Nazi party, it happened.

A pretty big question I would have for one who does not believe in a hell or heaven is are they truly content with the idea that Hitler pretty much got away with it all. I don't think it would be hard to sell the idea that Hitler's suicide was a convenient way to escape accountability. If there is no such thing as heaven or hell, then Hitler accomplished exactly what he wanted.

Just some more to think about.

Sincerely,

i dont really think it matters whether people think hell is just or not- I mean God created us, right? So he knows what's what right? Who are we to tell him what's what? He says in his word that you shouldn't fear men but he who can destroy your soul- I really don't think that there will be any boxing match with God when the lost go to hell- they won't be able to contest it just because they don't like it. It's like a two- year old whining at his father because he doesn't want to be spanked because he back talked to his mother. He doesn't like it- but oh well he knew the consequences and was disobedient despite them. Sad.

I feel it's more juvenile to go on about how one is right on a subject and others aren't, but that's just me.
