That's not their reasoning. If I hold to one God, but it's not the God of Abraham, I am not regarded as Muslim. Key words? God of Abraham.

By the way..May i ask what religion you are?
yes I am christian, and I do see your religion in words, I just didn't know what that means, thankyou for clarifying that it is part of Hinduism. I am completely ignorant about your religion, perhaps I will learn more on this site,I have met some great people thus far. thank you for the welcome!Sanatana Dharma - which is commonly, but somewhat erroneously called as "Hinduism." The forums offer a way for people to display their religion right next to their name - I notice you have filled out Christian.
Islam believes Mecca is where Abraham built his alter, then the koresh took it over and Mohammad reclaimed it for Islam. The stone was part of the original structure That Abraham and Ishmeal built.as far as your list of polytheistic tribes,I will only answer that They did not claim to be Islamic. Muslims do hold that Abraham was Muslim, However Their reasoning is He held to one God, therefore He must have been Islamic.
Here is more on the importance of meteorites in the worship of various religions world wide and through history. It was a very common pagan worship theme. And for those who are Muslim, no I'm not saying the Muslims worship the stone but simply that the stone is part of their worship for Allah. The fact that it is a meteorite used in the worship of a good ascribes some characteristic of astronomy to the Muslim God which would support the evidence discovered of the statues of the moon God and its inference that that God is Allah.
