But it was only their screenname that puts me off because it instantly labels them as a follower of a Satanic belief system.
Sure I could just ignore 'em but I don't want to hurt their feelings and am looking for a convenient 'get-out', I'm just a big softy..:)

Do you really think the will care:rolleyes:

Er..where does the Bible say that?
Im sorry it took me so long to get to this but the Bible does say:"Jesus answered,"If you want to be perfect, go sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me..." Matthew 19:21
Sounds like Jesus is telling us to not have luxuries at the expense of helping others.:D

Another thing I've been meaning to ask is whether we should pray for people who ask us to pray for them, without checking them out first?
For example a lady posted in a Christian forum last year asking that we "pray for the success of her marriage", and of course everybody started congratulating her, blessing the marriage and praying for its success.
It then turned out it was a lesbian "civil union" marriage, she took them all for a ride..:)

Im one of those people that will care. I sent a frienship request to someone on here, and weeks later he had not responded to it. It was a genuine request from me, not an attempt to palm in as many friends on my friendslist as i could muster. It did get me uptight.

I'm a taurus. I make friends for life. I am brutally loyal and expect nothing else from my friends. What i mean by expect is....it never crosses my mind that they wont be as loyal to me, and when they are I have a huge struggle with it. The thing is....im one of those people that take this 'friendship request' feature on this forum as seriously as i would any other frienship request. I never say no to a request made, and i never make one unless im really offering my frienship in the best way one can be friends on a forum.

As for the motives and intentions of Waymaker and the unidentified frienship requester...lol...i cannot vouch for their intentions but i do believe that not everybody gives the same value to their frienships on a forum as others do.

What i have found is that when i pray for people, god gives me understanding about them as I pray. No need to check them out before i pray, the praying checks them out. For example there are 5 people on this forum that I pray for. God impresses it in my spirit what it is that they need and I pray for that. You get to know their needs by praying for them.

HE HE.... your first friendship request? And that from a satanic cult member. LOL...i find it rather funny actually. ;)

If you are worried that the friendship request was an attempt to get a 'hair' sample from you to stick on a voodoo doll and poke holes in you, you need not fear. All you really should have done was well....nothing. I think that by starting this thread you have made a this front page news. Most people who tell you not to judge, have now judged you as being a horrible person. All in all. Sometimes things should just be left unsaid. But now that it is done, that is that. I would say there is no need to make a bigger fuss about this than it already is.
I hope you arent commenting on my Matt 7:1 post, i never said anyone is a bad person, there are no "horrible" people only bad wants and ideas...

Right, no true Christian would feel comfortable having too much of anything.
You've forced another anecdote out of me- last year I was down to my last £4 (6 dollars), it was all the cash I had on this earth but when a beggar lady asked me for cash I gave her half of it, I just couldn't help it, yup I'm weird..

prayer is personal, its what you want to make it. Because its just you and God. And no matter what you say He knows the meaning behind it.

Heneni quote- If you are worried that the friendship request was an attempt to get a 'hair' sample from you to stick on a voodoo doll and poke holes in you, you need not fear..

Nah, we holy men don't do 'fear'..:)
"For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of selfdiscipline" (2 Tim 1:7)
"..that you may stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured" (Col 4:12)

I've had runes and curses and incantations cast at me during my years on the net but they've done me no harm, for example a witch in a chatroom said she was invoking the goddess Sekhmet to come and get me, I put the kettle on but she never turned up, gosh I hate getting stood up by goddesses..;)

Do you think calling yourself a "holy man" and posting all the positive comments you have makes you humble in the name of Christianity? Not a judgement, a real question. what about "...That is why the Scriptures says: God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."James 4:6
