I hope that those who voted for Donald Trump really are true believers, because one thing is becoming extraordinarily clear: Donald Trump is set to be the single most powerful President in American history, for at least the next 2 years. Consider:
  • He's got the Senate wrapped up, and likely the House.
  • His court appointments, along with how that impacted the Supreme Court in granting him immunity to pretty much anything, ensure that he'll win every attempt to constrain him legally. This will get worse as he appoints more judges. (He has already ordered the Senate to stop confirming judicial appointments from the current administration.)
  • The three Republicans seeking to replace Mitch McConnell as Senate Majority Leader have already kowtowed to his first demand -- "grant me scrutiny-free appointments."
  • Because of that scrutiny-free appointment power, powerful positions will be filled by under-qualified Trump loyalists, who will do his bidding without respect to predictable outcomes.
So, as I said, he really had better be the savior so many of you were looking for, because you've granted him almost unlimited power to do whatever the hell he wants.

Donald Trump isn’t a savior.
He’s just a man.
I am thinking we are getting pretty close to and in need of the return of the only Savior Jesus Christ.

After all, Trump is a business man
He has learned from his mistakes
That he is not above the law
And now he will make sure
To settle the score
So that he wins

Ask any of the MAGAts, they'll agree they want Trump to fundamentally transform America into something it was never meant to be.
I don’t think that’s what they would say. I don’t really personally know any MAGA’s and don’t associate with very politically focused people, except one relative who was just elected to a state position (not a MAGA, though). From what I’ve read MAGA people seem to want politicians that adhere to the Constitution, limit federal government overreach, protect border security, deal with crime and ensure individual freedoms.

All it takes is conservative media teaching these MAGA's that no one in govt is adhering to the constitution, protecting the border, crime, etc and they'll believe it. It doesn't matter if the truth is the opposite of what they believe.
At the end of the day, they want to burn down the govt because someone taught them the govt is evil and needs to change.
It's all fiction. Now the corporate takeover is accelerated. You can't help those people, they have no interest in the truth.

The Constitution? Limited Federal government? Individual freedoms? Fighting crime? None of that is what Trump is about.

He is above the law, now. The old law that is. He is the new law, his law not ours.
IF it were just Trump it would be fine

There are many billionaires who make this happen, and who will literally kill thousands without shame, IMO of course, I hope I'm wrong though

It seems completely the opposite to me from what you’re saying. The Democratic Party has become the party of elites with government in collusion with corporate entities, media, etc.

That's fiction. Whoever told you that is lying to you. The Republican party has been the elitist corporate party since Reagan.
Conservative media isn't in the business of facts and truth.

What worries me, especially with the stark difference between the third week of Nov 2016 and this week, is that since Trump has never shown to be decisive and smart, so just "who" is making these appointment decisions he's putting his stamp on? "Someone" had a plan and is activating it exceedingly efficiently. Not Trump's personal MO.

Trump, Musk, Koch brothers, etc?

You don't see a connection there? You're view is operating on half-truths.
Not only that.

"Corporations are people" --Mitt Romney (R)
Citizens United ruling giving corporations unlimited anonymous spending on elections.
Republicans want no corporate tax.
Republicans want no regulations
Republicans are against raising wages for workers.
Republicans are against affordable health care.
Republicans deny climate change for corporate reasons.
Republicans are against unions.

It goes on and on and on. America ignores all the facts and history.

The Republican Party has been the elitist corporate party, but that has definitely changed over the last several years. I suggest you do a little further research on the subject. The Democrat Party has changed…

The New Democratic Party

The current Democratic Party may represent the apotheosis of the new corporate state. It raises record sums from the corporate elite35—notably, the tech oligarchs36 and their Wall Street allies.37Among financial firms, communications companies, and lawyers, Biden outraised Trump by five to one or more.38 Equally important, the tech giants actively helped direct Biden’s presidential campaign,39providing digital savvy,40 with Mark Zuckerberg himself financing election day operations in many critical states.41 Timemagazine’s approving exposé of the corporate elites’ scheme to unseat President Trump noted that an “informal alliance between left-wing activists and business titans” had succeeded in influencing election results through both cash donations to Democrats and manipulation of media for political ends.42

The oligarchs often couched their support in progressive and even patriotic rhetoric that also served their economic interests. They needed to turn back challenges posed by real progressives, like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, who openly challenged their power.43 Oligarchs like Jeff Bezos, through his mouthpiece the Washington Post, backed Biden and consistently denigrated Sanders.44 They also have a great interest in reducing conflict with China, which they see as a key market and a source of supply, and they also seek to restore the flow of high-tech de facto indentured servants imported from abroad, who constitute upward of 40 percent of Silicon Valley’s high-tech workforce.45

The current surge of oligarchic power is supported by massive lobbying operations, now the largest in Washington, which have found allies among some right-wing libertarians, including the Cato Institute and the Heritage Foundation, which doggedly justify censorship and oligopoly on private property grounds.46 Little attention is paid to this growing concentration of market power.

The Biden-led Democratic Party promises a fresh springtime for oligarchs. The prominence of corporate lobbyists47 in the new administration all but assures that Biden, like Barack Obama,48 will wink and nod49 as Microsoft, Amazon, Apple, Facebook, and Google acquire or crush competitors, and function increasingly beyond constitutional limits of censorship to control and limit political debate.50

In contrast to the drama and conflict that characterized the Trump era, Biden’s regime promises an almost Chinalike “harmony” between the most powerful corporations and the government. In contrast to Trump’s very eclectic, if unstable, cabinet, the Biden administration follows the now predictable path of packing itself with former employees of big, connected Ivy League law firms, many with close ties to the tech industry.51 Biden’s early appointments have, as the American Prospect reveals, profited from clients among the tech oligarchs and other major corporations.52 A golden era of corporate collusion with government seems assured.”

Americans wanted to vote against their own interests, the trans community, immigration, etc.

The claim is that it was "about the economy". That's just a convenient justification for voting against the aforementioned.

The economy was fine. Yes! It could be better. America just voted for corporate greed and power.

Why should I care what the Claremont Institute thinks? A conservative think tank? You really aren't good at this. They gotcha!
