Hillary vs Donald in 2024?

I find her to be quite intelligent, and quite honest.

One of the reasons that I've been able to vote across party lines for most of my life is that I do truly believe that good people with good sense will make decisions I can live with when push comes to shove. I could, of course, be wrong, but I think that she may well be that sort of person.

But also, I was being cheeky.

Take your pick.
I vote based upon agendas rather than intelligence & honesty.
A smart & honest person who opposes liberty is a real threat.
Give me a lying dumbo who values civil liberties & peace instead.

All you need is love.
If Hillary Clinton is the democratic nominee in the 2024 presidential election, then I'll vote for her. I didn't vote for her in 2016, and I regretted that decision for the next four years with Donald Trump in the White House. I was still a conservative and registered as a Republican in 2016, so I voted third party rather than vote for Hillary. I didn't feel comfortable voting democratic, and I refused to vote for Trump. I spent the next four years miserably feeling like I made a terrible mistake for not voting for her. I won't make that same mistake again in 2024. I'll admit that I was deeply relieved when Trump lost the 2020 election. It was like breathing in fresh air after breathing toxic fumes for the last four years. Jon Bon Jovi singing 'Here Comes The Sun' for Biden's inauguration was perfect.

To be a good person is....well....good.
But more important than that is the agendas they'd pursue
& effect in office. A good person might oppose bodily autonomy
(eg, reproductive rights), 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th....Amendment
rights.

And therein lies the voter's problem: how do you determine the real agenda of someone seeking public office and power? Sure, we check out their platform, listen carefully to their speeches, see what they do when challenged in a debate, and so on. But for the most part, all we really have is their history.

I am a great believer in the notion that, by and large, we humans (once we've reached some level of maturity) really don't change all that much. As a result, I've found that Behavioural-Focused Interviewing (BFI) can be very helpful in choosing the best candidates for difficult roles, or for expensive, company-sponsored MBA programs and so on. When push comes to shove, how you react in most situtations will not differ so very much from how you reacted in very similar situations in the past.

So, in fact, I don't listen to politica speeches and debates so much. I try to learn the history of candidates.

I don't claim that I'm a better voter than anybody else -- in the end, everyone with great responsibility will face situations they've never faced before, so there's no way to predict how they'll behave. But I think I do better when it comes to the business of managing day-to-day government.

Is it bad that I am beyond curious to see the results of that particular election?
Perhaps not being in America I can be more jovial about it. But omg the popcorn I’d consume during that election campaign. Wow
