Hello Adstar,
You said:
"God wins in the end my friend. And all who stand with Him will enjoy the blessings of His victory."
Since you feel inclined evade my point and ply me with evangelism instead, I invite you to outline and detail what the Bible
says the blessings of His victory will
be for His adherents, in this REF thread:
"So whats so great about a Christian heaven?"
What
do "the winners"
get (I've already heard what happens to the "losers")?
There is little point in posting scriptures to people who use the "the bible is not the word of God but the word of men" argument. You have been defeated by that lie.
It must please your god that you retain the especial insight to determine whom is worthy of hearing Scripture in righteous justification of your faith. The "deceived" (by lies) are therefore unworthy of Scripture? To Hell with them? Easier to stand by God's Word when no one questions either what you
claim, or what He
says, I suppose.
People who pick and choose what they agree with in the Word and then discard everything they disagree with in the bible using the "it's all just words of men" argument have only created their own personal religion. They have not found the truth they have distorted the truth to conform with what their vain minds think of as being the truth.
Where do vain minds go to test themselves and learn "the truth"? If vanity is self-deceit, and lies separate minds from "the truth", to what or whom should they turn, or trust? Perhaps to
someone that already claims (or infers) for themselves to understand "the truth" (and there's certainly no
vanity in
that position)?
People who trust in their own minds logic have pride in their own thoughts and pride comes before destruction. The Word of God is not some smorgasbord that people can pick and choose what suits them. Every Word of God will stand until the end no matter how many self deceived people choose the broad way that leads to destruction.
I can't
entirely disagree with you there. Majority of held opinion (or faith-based belief) is neither assurance nor guarantor of accuracy, wisdom, common sense, or "the truth". How does that adage go now...?
"
Just because you think something is true, and most people agree with you, that don't make it necessarily so".
Funny. I was
just thinking the same thing...
Since you seem intimately familiar with the "Word of God", I was wondering which published version of the Bible you use (ya know, the
one with all the
truthful Words) that is unvarnished by "
the words of men"? I'd like to have a copy of
that one (i hope it is in English, as I'm not fluent in ancient Hebrew or Greek).
Matthew 7
13 Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
I note that you quote (Matt:13-14) from the
New King James Version (NKJV) translation of the Bible (first published in 1982). Should I assume
that translation to be unblemished by "
the words of men", and sole repository of the accurate and truthful "
Word of God"?
If so, I
do have a copy of
that translation, and you would spare me an unnecessary visit to Amazon.com by affirming that assumption.

You probably already knew this bit of Biblical trivia, but for those vain and curious minds still misled by lies and the "words of men"...it's interesting to note that it wasn't until (first published)
1560 that the
Geneva Bible added
numbered verses to an English translation of the Bible. I guess cutting and pasting numbered Chapter and Verse from Scripture (as righteous instruction) doesn't intrude upon the notion of men otherwise altering/amending "God's Word"]
