I'm sorry, I realize that this is all beside the point I guess. It's just one of the few beliefs that genuinely baffles my mind and sometimes I cannot resist venting my profound sense of confusion over it. Perhaps its not for me to understand, as some Christians say you need the "Holy Spirit" inside you before you can accept it all on faith, although I don't know what that means either. Yet we are all debating what some people thought thousands of years ago and not even what they thought but what other people thought that they thought and then who wrote down what they apparently thought, etc. And this is all suppose to convey absolute truth about all the details in our lives, including how we treat homosexuals? Sorry, there I go again. I'm done venting now.

I have another theory, they are quote mining the Bible itself to support their own need to feel superior.

You had no question to begin with.

I am arguing truth, you are not. All you have been doing is giving pathetic sly remarks.
You are making claims that because you are unable to masturbate without having inappropriate thoughts about others that no one can.
That is the premise of your whole "argument".
The fact is that it is just not truth.
Thus you are not arguing truth, you are arguing bull ****.
Plain and simple.

The question you failed to answer is:
how is it uncalled for?

I have not even talked much about homosexuality. I just said one thing, someone said another, and this shmuck jumps in, not with an argument, just with pathetic sly remarks.
Yet you have not presented a single thing to support your bull **** claim that because you cannot masturbate without having inappropriate thoughts of other that no one can other than your self jumping up and down screaming that it is impossible forany to masturbate with out having inappropriate thoughts of others.

Yet I am the "shmuck"?

you are most comical.

Ever notice how the most vocal opponents of homosexuality among Christian evangelicals turn out to be gay themselves? I think it is a case of projection. :D

I wonder how many people have masturbated during the course of this debate...? I wonder how many people that are opposed to masturbation on the grounds that its sinful have also masturbated?

+1.

The definition of marriage used to be "one man and one woman". The gays have gotten that definition changed...at least in most on-line dictionaries.....

....but not in most minds.

Mine included.

I swear marriage used to actually be... One man and his shiny new property, err I mean wife!

Because most marriages back in the day were business deals. Fathers would marry off their daughters to high-ranking officials (Sons) for a share at the title, land and prestige to their family name.

Sons used to get married for the same reason. Marry the wife of a wealthy official and when the old man dies, you get to inherit the land under the connection your wife has with the In-laws.

Politics, money and title.

Deffinitely 7.

Wow... lookie at that... one person for each day of the week. But seriously, and just to disturb you all.

I personally don't always need to "lust" after someone to pleasure myself. It's called "focusing on the sensations of the body" is generally fulfilling enough. Kind of like meditation. Only its... masturbation. :D

Of course a bit of fantasy helps out too

Very true. An acre of land and a couple of goats could score you a pretty decent wife.

Pretty much. The Homophobic Right-Wing always state that Same-Sex Couples wish to redefine marriage without realising that they themselves have already redefined marriage to suit the changing times.

Of course I am fairly sure that they wouldn't like to go back to the old definition? Well I know certainly that women wouldn't like to. I mean being treated as nothing more than an asset for land and title seems pretty discriminatory in my opinion.

It was because women got their rights that the original ideals of marriage were changed in such a dramatic way. It is considered to be a union of two equal, and consenting adults nowadays. What's the real difference between two men, or two women being part of the "consenting adults" bracket?

Oh that's right, it's not natural. Well sorry gentlemen, having viagra to enhance performance at the age of 50, 60 or 70 is pretty unnatural too. I don't see you all up in arms about that!

Any sin that tries to self justify will find itself in resistance under law.
you mean like slavery and women's inequality?

Bottom line is the Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.If you walk by the flesh you will die and if you walk by the Spirit you will find life!

oh i see, so being black and female is something our spirit doesn't want to be...

interesting.

Never was man on man. And the church would disagree to

Don't make assumptions you can't prove. I know that if two men during the samurai era were able to live together for five years without killing each other, then it was considered as legitimate as a man/woman relationship. Not sure how they treated to women though back in the day.

Marriage also is not just restricted to Christianity, Islam or Judaism. Hinduism has weddings and marriage. I am pretty sure their definitions of marriage are very different to the Abrahamic rendition.

The Ancient Celts also had "hand-fasting" which was marriage in their own fashion. I know that many African tribes also have marriages. Those same tribes also often have Homosexual Spiritual Leaders (Shamans, Witch-doctors) etc etc.

I am speaking of the spiritual law of sin and death from walking according to the flesh. Please elaborate what you mean.

but what does that have to do with reality?

the reality is that slaves where looking to be emancipated because the bible
condoned slavery
and women were subjected to men...gen 3:16

both were seeking justification to be counted as equal when the law said they were not....

i think all you need to do is worry about yourself and the choices you make for yourself, meaning if you are not gay don't act like you are. and stop worrying about other peoples spirituality, it makes you look like your bored with your own.

Perhaps that is it. People enforce their beliefs on others as a way of justifying their beliefs to themselves? Hmm... something to ponder certainly.

No no!, Nobody else counts you know!
These other people were all godless heathens!
So what kind of model could they possibly serve as?
(ex. wrong, inconsequential, sinful, sidetracking....)
