House Democrats Vote To Violate The Law

Woberts

The Perfumed Seneschal
What gives you the right to accuse me of saying that. Tell you what, how about you keep your opinions of what I do or do not think to yourself, and I will refrain from getting dinged by the moderators.
What gives him the right is the simple fact that you're doing it.
Heh, conservatives call liberals snowflakes yet this happens when they're called out on their BS.
Classic.

Not to you.
But I notice that Trump is chortling, & the Dems' sails are flaccid.
So it's worth much to him.
Questions.
- Do you care about the country? Or just who is winning politically?
- Do you believe that might makes right?
- Do you believe that “both sides do it” equally? And that is right, just, and good for our nation that anyone in government act the way that Trump and his supporters (including the media) do?

Just curious to understand your viewpoint. o_O

Good. Let’s get this over and done with as much transparency as can be without sacrificing national security.

.....and No. The Republican party is not trustworthy with such items. They are compromised. They are the party that is in question here, so their involvement (i.e. Barr’s pointless summary) are suspect at a minimum, and definitively in conflict of interest.

Congress has a duty to carry out oversight on the president: they are cleared for high security items including the fully un-redacted Mueller report: there is no legally viable objection or alternative to having congress review the report.

"Congress has no business broadcasting graphic accounts of the president’s sex life. It was inappropriate in 1998. It would be inappropriate today.”

It seems congress is as leaky as ever.
I have no interest in Trump’s sex life. I would pay real money just to not hear about that. And I was not interested in Clinton’s either.

It is about the money.

Country.

No.

I don't believe the word "equal" applies to non-quantifiable comparisons.
(Lefties are always trying to use the "False equivalency!" cry to dismiss
observations of bad behavior on both sides of the aisle. I'm sure you
wouldn't deflect that way. But I'm wary of others who would pounce upon
any imprecision.)

Malfeasance on one side never excuses it on the other.
Neither does perceived difference in magnitude or quantity.
I'm sure you agree.
Just curious to understand your viewpoint. o_O
Now you know.
What are your answers to the same questions?

You say only Republicans are to be questioned. Nah
I see both parties as having questionable dealings & motives.
Congress has a duty to carry out oversight on the president: they are cleared for high security items including the fully un-redacted Mueller report: there is no legally viable objection or alternative to having congress review the report.
No one I've seen argues against Congress's responsibility.
But there are questions about how to exercise it, legal limits,
& the best course of action.
You wouldn't say their power is unlimited, eh?
And there's the very real chance that someone in Congress
might release info which they aren't allowed...by accident.
Some redaction could be appropriate, eh.

IF, you trust the AG it shouldn't be a problem. Nothing should be redacted simply because it incriminates Trump.

Maybe have a couple of Congress person review the unredacted report to verify nothing like that has been unnecessarily redacted. If any leaks happen you'll know where it came from.

@Revoltingest - thanks for answering.

As Mark Twain said, “Loyalty to the country ALWAYS. Loyalty to the government when it deserves it.”

-
Do you believe that might makes right?
No. It is usually those in power who need to be questioned the most.

Here we differ. While socially and human psychology are far from the order of math and physics, I believe that they are quantifiable to a degree. And given enough time (which I usually don’t have) I fully believe that I could present “mountains of evidence” demonstrating how the conservatives, both in government and the media, distort, twist the truth, and out-right lie in a blatantly hypocritical fashion on a regular basis, while those on the left tend to paralyze their own arguments by constantly rehashing among themselves the precise nuance of truth that should be presented, so as to give people the most exact sets of information, upon which they then ask the people to form opinions, so as to then guide the rather milk-toast Democratic Party to belatedly represent the people.
Again citing a quote that is often (and erroneously) attributed to Samuel Clemens, “A lie travels around the globe while the truth is putting on its shoes.”

A prime example is global warming. The facts clearly support that global warming is occurring and is by & large anthropogenic. However the conservatives and their media have turned these scientific findings into a political battle where no battle should actually exist.
They throw out 100 different lines before the first of them can be refuted by the scientific community or publically challenged by a progressive (reality-based) politician.
Meanwhile 100 different lies h
ave been printed and distributed, and the politician as well as the scientific community are laughed at.
The following month the first set of 100 lies (including the refuted one) are repeated as if they were new, and the public is simply too stupid/whipped into a frenzy against science and/or busy to care.
We have all seen this been happening for more than a decade now. You’re not too stupid to deny that.
