How Bad Will It Get?

Sure, if you say so.
"Heartiest congratulations my friend...on your historic election victory. As you build on the successes of your previous term, I look forward to renewing our collaboration to further strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global and Strategic Partnership. Together, let’s work for the betterment of our people and to promote global peace, stability and prosperity," Modi said on X.
I think Modi would have sent a similar message to Kamala Harris if she would have won.

The stock market jumped over 1000 points after Trump won.
Of course, the rich are excited to get tax cuts. Do you have any money in the market and benefit from this?

In the long term the market will tank with a recession, and that is almost certain if Trump puts his ideas into action.

Do you think this will happen immediately? Or after his term so whoever's next gets blamed for it again?
No. More than anything, tRump is a senile and lazy conman, in it purely for his own personal wealth and self-aggrandizement. Like in his first term, he will golf and do little else, riding on the good economy he is inheriting while taking credit for it.
However, to fulfill the self-aggrandizing part of him, he will have to make a show of doing some of the evil/anti-democracy/fascist/racist things he promised his salivating worshippers. :(
He will grant immunity to lawsuits to various policing agencies, and make a small show of rounding up illegal aliens in country. But the cost will be too high for the US and big business owners who require immigrant labor. So, like his wall project, it will appear in occasional videos, then fade away.
The economy will start to falter only after a year or so into his presidency.

——————.

Yes, I agree with others on the international front. We may end up withdrawing from NATO, and other beneficial international agreements if they don’t show immediate/short-term financial benefits to the USA. And even if those can be reinstated after tRump is gone, the other nations of the world stated clearly in his first term that they could no longer trust the US to honor the agreements it has made. Like last time, tRump has and will severely worsen our reputation across the globe.
While dictators and warlords (e.g. Putin, Un, etc…) will coddle and bribe tRump into ignoring or even supporting their atrocities. :(

This is one reason why the republicans won. The left has sick beliefs like this.
He gutted the DOJ the last time he was in office.

He has already promised to punish his detractors.

He loves Putin, and will give him Ukraine by cutting of aid.

When has Trump ever in his life done anything for anyone not expecting it to further his own interests?

And you support him in all of these.

It's just a fact.

No region has actually joined Russia.
Illegal annexation through sham illegal referendums are not "joining". It's "conquering" and "stealing".
We lost lots of territories too...then we made peace with all of Europe and moved on.

They'll survive. ;)

I hope their joining process is sped up by the EU.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.

I actually do. I have retirement funds in the market, and time will tell what happens with them. Last time Trump was in office, the market surged and I was much better off.

I fully expect three decades of continued erosion, sometimes far more than just erosion.

The EU will become the last bastion of defense of human rights and civility.

It will become a lot worse indeed before we begin to heal from this ninety-years regression.

The OP question demonstrates a pessimistic expectation. That is by asking how BAD it will get instead of how GOOD it will get.
Just going on what he promised.
I believe that in the next two years we will be able to separate what was political manipulation of facts and what the truth was and is.

Remembering how in 2016 they said he would create wars - and yet he stopped a war anf no more wars were added.

That being said, we will now see a plethora of anti-Trump manipulation of what is going to happen when he becomes the President
Wait. You DO acknowledge the fact that tRump increased drone strikes after taking over from Obama, resulting in an even greater number of civilian casualties than he ranted against while on the campaign trail. However, he also repealed the need to report them. Right?

That tRump effectively assassinated a Major General Qasem Soleimani, thereby coming the closest we could get to being in a war with Iran (don’t worry, they haven’t forgotten).

That tRump has told Netanyahu to kill with impunity, and that he plans to withdraw US support of Ukraine for his pal Putin. Right?

Under Donald Trump, drone strikes far exceed Obama's numbers

Trump revokes Obama rule on reporting drone strike deaths

My take on what this is means is more from the Humanist viewpoint.

I’ve lost faith in America, and that has caused me to lose a little faith in humanity itself. I don’t know how America or the world can resist Trump's worst plans. I predicted this election incorrectly, because I believed in a certain basic goodness in people that would be expressed in the solitude and sanctity of the polling booth. I was wrong. I think, frankly, that many Americans acted out of pure selfishness – because their eggs cost too much – not understanding that the inflation they so hate is the price EVERYBODY paid to ensure that hundreds of thousands of business didn’t close, that millions of your fellows would not suffer bankruptcy or penury after the pandemic. They've sold their birthright for a mess of pottage.

My worst fears, right now, are for the people who are most at risk. Today, millions must now live in fear of being swept up by Trump's cruel mass deportation plan. Documented immigrants as well as undocumented, and millions of American citizens with undocumented parents or spouses.

More Americans now must fear that they'll be forced to give birth or be denied life-saving care during an ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage. Today, America has become less safe for trans people – especially trans kids who were already at risk of violence and discrimination. It is less safe for LGBTQ+ people who have so recently won the right to love who they love, and to marry them. And anyone else – anyone who has already faced prejudice and marginalization is now in greater danger.

I fear for Ukraine, who will now in all likelihood lose their homeland and their freedom. I fear for the Palestinians of Gaza and the West Bank, since Trump has long told Benjamin Netanyahu to “do what you have to do.” And those fears lead me to fear, a little down the road, for more of Europe and for the whole Middle East.

Trump has also promised to seek revenge against his political opponents. Countless Americans are endangered now on a scale and intensity almost unheard of in modern America. Your press will become less free, and that will help to erode democracy, which is now on a downward slide. How will decent Americans, protect these people and resist these forces? I don’t know, and I don’t think you do, either. A packed Supreme Court has given him almost unchecked power.

What can anyone do now to resist the Trump/Vance Administration – how can you protect the people in harm's way, (if you even want to), and how will you preserve and reclaim your democracy. (Or are you just happy to let it go?)

Today, millions are grieving and/or frightened, and more millions around the world are so much less certain of the future.

And so am I.
I understand this take. I hope over time you would be able to look at the real reasons why people voted for Trump over Harris. The media let you down, they actively lied to the world to try to get Harris elected. The optimism for Harris over the last couple of days was generated by the media and bad polling, it was not reality. The dem party is so far left of where the majority of regular Americans are that we rejected it. Harris flipped flopped on at least 15 issues that went against her life's beliefs, that is not a believable candidate either. Trump and the Americans that voted for Trump are not the "deplorables" you think we are, I hope after Trump gets in office you can objectively see what he is doing and not doing and can see how the media has lied to all of us.

WAIT!

Yo DO acknowledge that Trump stopped ISIS which resulted in even SMALLER numbers of civilian casualties and that when Biden left Afghanistan, more civilian casualties, freedom fighters and even our soldiers lost their lives?

Are you still pushing political bias because Trump won? Maybe you should try praying and stop creating scenarios that are in the future and don’t know if it really is going to be that way?

As an anarchist™ I used to think that anyone who supported government was bad. It took a lot of maturing and contemplation and open mindedness to move past that harmful perception. Perhaps people embroiled in partisan politics can move past their disdain for one another. It is surely possible and preferable.

Fear is very manipulative and freezes thinking. Pray with faith and love and fear dissipates and things change for the better

But...what a coincidence...when he was president between 2017 and 2020, no war was started.
He moved the embassy to Jerusalem and there was no war in the Middle East.

Maybe it's because he's very, very good at diplomacy?
Or perhaps current events are the result of his past actions.

Remember that Trump also made it possible or much easier for Iran to get nuclear weapons so that was good as well, I guess? :)

Government is necessary but if left unchecked will alway oppress people. That is why the founders of the US and the constitution believed in limited government, not the massive oppressive government we have now.
