How can Christians not condemn homosexual behavior?

I guess warning someone a truck is about to hit them means you hate them.

Your war is really with God and you cant win

Im glad someone hated me and told me about Jesus and that my life was all wrong and an affront to God

my war is with this rubbish disguised as divine justification that has help ruin countless lives and when this excuse is exposed all there is is hate, fear and bigotry

First, it's not God who wrote those books, but the Apostle Paul.....who never met Jesus before the Crucifixion and it's only his testimony that he met Jesus after.
Second, Paul's words are a step backwards from what Jesus preached.
Third, how can we have free will if we condemn, imprison, execute or otherwise dictate what people can and can't do of their own free will as long as it isn't violating another person's free will?

1] The resurrected Jesus was still Jesus but in his spirit body.
Because Paul met Jesus post-resurrection that is why gospel writer Luke wrote about that meeting at Acts chapter 9.

2] Jesus preached 'No fornication' [ Matthew 5 v 32; 19 v 9] That would be the same standard for all single people.

3] Being created as a free moral agent does not mean one can not misuse one's free will. Didn't perfect Adam misuse his free will choices ?

Luke was a contemporary and follower of Paul, but attests that he was not an eyewitness to Christ's ministry.

Matthew 5:32
English Standard Version (ESV)
32 But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.
Matthew 19:9
English Standard Version (ESV)
9 And I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.
Yes, I know a lot of Republican gay-bashers who have a lot to answer to the Lord for on these versus.
Do you believe divorce should be outlawed, URAVIP2ME?

Agreed about free will. The judgment is the Lord's, however, not your's nor mine.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
I am still unclear though as to how you have reached some of your conclusions.

But I'm not out to hound you.

It's OK, sister - I don't consider your curiosity to be "hounding" and I certainly don't mind clarifying this for you, especially considering the manner in which you are discussing the topic.

I base my Christian beliefs, which I apply to my own personal life, on the teachings of Jesus Christ first and foremost, the teachings of the New Testament (taken in historical context) and from the Bible as a whole - understanding HOW the NT and the OT complement each other. I do not believe that Christians are instructed to follow the letter of the OT law. Even most devout Jews do not believe their faith requires them to follow the letter of the OT law. When was the last time any of your Jewish friends sacrificed a lamb at Passover and then painted the blood on their doorway?

Ok, I think we are mostly all working on that not only Christians. Trying to become the better person. I've enough of my own sin I'm in no position to judge anyone else's.

Sexual desire? I'm certainly in no place where I can judge my sexual desire as being less sinful then the next fellow. It's not up to me to judge my fellowman. I've enough of my own problems to worry about. Worrying about the next guy's problems seems a bit hypocritical to me.

Well, amen to this.

You are hating him right back, so you're even, right?

how am i hating him exactly?

i don't get it.
this is how i see it.
this is a forum where the people involved are NOT emotionally attached to each other while speaking their truth with no strings attached it's an opportunity to speak honestly...
honesty =/= hate.

1) You've attested to hating "religion" many times. Despite claims to the contrary, it is clear this applies to those who believe in religion as well as shown by...

2) Your declaration that he is "garbage". We get rid of garbage, don't we? Just dump it off a cliff? I disagree with him and think he is wrong in his assertions, but he's still a human being like you. Certainly not "garbage", trash or any refuse which should be hauled off by a truck and dumped in the ocean or landfill.

Hate if you like, I can't stop you, but I will certainly call you on it.

no excuses necessary...i am not apologizing.

Of course not. You are resolute in believing you never do wrong and, therefore, believe you never have anything to apologize for including inferring, declaring or otherwise treating another person like garbage. Fine. Nothing more to discuss.

when did i say i never do wrong?
i have no apologies for seeing religion the way i do...
look i like karen carpenters voice just like the next person, but i'm not going to be listening to her when i'm involved in any kind of extreme sport, know what i mean?

you are actually proving my point
see you don't even know when religion ends and the person begins THAT is how ambiguous religion is as an excuse for bad behavior.
in my opinion, a person isn't defined by what they believe, they are defined by what they do...
if that person has the capability of subjecting homosexuals they are defined by that action...the only problem is when religion is a reason for that action it is somehow justified..so sue me for hating religion and equating it to an excuse :p

Yes, you think it's all my fault. I get it. I've seen people on both sides of the fence say the same thing. It's always the other guy's fault and they are completely blameless. Sorry, but I don't buy it.

Didn't Paul say something to the effect that sin is no longer in effect because the law is no longer in effect? If those who identify as homosexual were allowed to marry, they wouldn't be single, and therefore, not subject to that particular standard.

So, what you've created, in effect, is a loophole for twisted morality that keeps different people mired in sin. Great. Just what Jesus would have done!

Once again I am going to repeat an earlier post in this thread. A Christian can't win in this argument- if a Christian believes that being a homosexual is a sin, he or she hates (although I never did see how that is necessarily hate). If a Christians doesn't believe a homosexual is sinning, it is believed that he or she is not following his or her religion correctly.
My solution- stop debating, it is going absolutely nowhere. :);)

so tell me, who put "the christian" in that position?

So many people miss the point entirely - at least what the point is to many Christians (and many others with moral codes they try to live by).

There's a huge difference between tolerance in the name of allowing personal freedoms, and selling out your own moral code.
