How Corrupt Cops Create Danger

The whole system tolerates repeated criminal behavior
by cops, eg, assault, theft, violating civil rights, lying.

This video from Canuckistan shows an example of how
good cops support bad cops. When this happens, there
are no good cops. Also, there are few good judges.

When I’d watch a cop movie or a TV show and they would romanticize police corruption and brutality it never set well with me. You know, the “good guy” beats up the criminal to get a confession. Or the “hero” uses torture techniques to find out the truth. And all too often they lie and commit violence, but because it’s against the “bad guys” we’re supposed to cheer it on. I never could find it in me to see the heroic behavior in corruption.

An in-law directed some episodes of the show, Law & Order.
I explained my discomfort with the show making police
violence look positive. We never discussed the show again.

Have you recently been done wrong by cops?
I ask because when I searched the forum for "cop" 8 out of 10 of the first search results were threads in the last 6 months from you. Not biggie, just courious

I've no problems with cops personally.
But I do strongly oppose what they've done
& still do to others.
I'm interested in constitutional liberties &
the proper rule of law applying to all.

Even though you're not one of the Norfolk 4,
wouldn't you too find coerced false confessions
to a grisly murder worthy of outrage?

Wrong is wrong no matter who does it.
They enforce the law, they are not above the law.

I agree that should be the principle.
But the system doesn't operate that way.
It plays out in the manor of a police state,
hence this thread.
Policing in Ameristan is more like "The Shield"
than "Dragnet".

There's always going to be a problem of who
watches the watchers. Be it police or even
discussion forums, eternal vigilance is necessary.

In the video I posted earlier, I should've mentioned
that the cop who coerced these false confessions
was later convicted of extortion. He had a long
record of corruption before, during, & after the case
of the Norfolk 4.

The massive corruption & incompetence at every
stage of the system illustrates the usefulness of
assuming that there are no good cops...there are
no good prosecutors...there are no good judges.
All or any might be out to railroad you.

If you ever talk to cops, be very cautious. Say little.
And be prepared to "take the 5th", & demand your
lawyer.

This video shows an example of entire police
department corruption....except for one lone cop,
who blows the whistle on another cop's unjustified
assault of a civilian. The department tried to cover
it up. Once exposed, they support the violent cop
who attacked the civilian.
It gets worse....the whistle blower, a cop...wants
protection from retaliation from the other cops,
who might retaliate for his violating the blue wall
that covers up cops' crimes.

This is an interesting video. We see a few cops assault
a compliant man under arrest, but all of the cops allow
it to happen with no intervention. They're more concerned
assaulting the civilian videoing the arrest.
So we have a common case where there are no good cops
on the scent. They all allow the kicks to the head, & slamming
his head into the floor. (Some cops call this a "tune up".)

Only 5 cops are booted. Let's hope they're prosecuted &
convicted with real sentences....not just probation. (Some
are being charged.) But the others had a duty to stop the
crimes (2 assaults) in progress. So they all should be charged.

Ex-cop beats a postal worker unconscious over
package delivery & political differences.
(Ex-cop likes Trump...mailman hates Trump.)
This news item is interesting for a couple reasons....
- The cops investigating tell the ex-cop that they
don't arrest ex-cops.
- The cop blue wall doesn't extend to post office
blue. The feds are charging the ex-cop, who will
go to trial for assault.
- The ex-cop would've gotten away with his fabricated
story, but multiple cameras on neighbors' homes showed
what actually happened.

Ubiquitous cameras...the single greatest thing to happen
to civil liberties & justice in history. One wonders how
many many more cops got away with crimes because
they weren't recorded, eh.

Cops can put you in jail for weeks because of snow
on a car's taillight. And by accusing you of dealing
in drugs, do body cavity searches. And to really
ramp up the shame, you can be billed for the rectal
& vaginal cavity searches.
But if you're persistent, you can get over $200,000
in damages from these government thugs.
Of course, none of the thugs will be prosecuted.

Many youtube videos show black cops abusing white folk,
but also abusing fellow black folk...contrary to popular
belief that the problem is just white cops & black guys.
Black cops can be as brutal, racist, & corrupt as any.
Remember Freddie Gray in Baltimore?
Media generally omitted the race of the black cops
involved in his death.

Example of cops giving a beating out of vengeance....

San Antonio....there are no "good" cops there.
They all support their violent murderous drunken fellows in blue.
It's as though they're out hunting humans, escalating things to
justify a beating or shoot-out. They enjoy the violence, they lie
on their reports, they avoid prosecution, & they often stay on the
force even after a pattern of abusing civilans.
Cops have been so effective & unified of covering up & defending
each other. But dash cams, surveillance cams, cel phones, & body
cams are bringing their corruption to light.
Our only way to improve things is for enuf recordings of such
heinous behavior eventually outrages the public to the point
where government listens.

Thanx to body cams, we now have 2 cops in prison,
instead of their victim. Before body cams, cops got
away with this & far worse things.

It's very common for cops to order cameras turned
off when they sense something incriminating.
It doesn't stop there.....they take steps to delete
footage, & to prevent what remains from ever
being aired.
When you see that this is a coordinated effort
one realizes that this is a department with no
good cops...only bad ones.

Damn Revolting. You sound almost like a hardcore leftist in this thread!
Have you given in to the dark side? ;):D

No but seriously I wholeheartedly agree with you. Corrupt cops frequently infringe or ignore citizen’s right, they cause more harm than good and act as though they’re above the law. The system (in both our countries) need an overhaul
