The "teachings"/message of the "son of man"/Yeshua, was that you must keep the Commandments (Mt 19:16-19), in which he listed for those who don't know the OT, and the 10th Commandments is that one is not to covet their neighbors goods, which is antithetical to the Progressive Marxist message, which would be categorized in Matthew 13:25, as the "message" of the "enemy"/"devil", which is for those who "commit lawlessness", and make their own individual subjective moral interpretations. Their end is to be gathered and thrown into the "furnace of fire" at the "end of the age" (Mt 13:30). As for the specific message of Yeshua Mt 19, it was to keep the Commandments, and leave your neighbor's property alone, but if you want to become perfect, sell all you have and give it to the poor, and then follow me. The example of modern-day Progressive Marxist, like the BLM leadership, and socialist Senate member, is to live high on the hog, and own multiple houses, and of course not be perfect, as in the case of the trained BLM Marxist leader, is to not pay their income taxes, in which that money was supposedly to be used to support their socialist programs.
Matthew: 19:16 And someone came to Him and said, “Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may obtain eternal life?”
17And He said to him, “Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is
only One who is good; but if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments.”
18Then he said to Him, “Which ones?” And Jesus said, “YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT MURDER; YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY; YOU SHALL NOT STEAL; YOU SHALL NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS;
19HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER; and YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.”
20The young man said to Him, “All these things I have kept; what am I still lacking?”
21Jesus said to him, “If you wish to be complete, go
and sell your possessions and give to
the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.
What a bizarre non sequitur. What does Marxism have to do with anything? Of course, conservatives use the term as a slur to refer to anything they either don't like or don't understand, regardless of the actual definition*. But anyway, here are some things that Jesus said that would be considered "woke" and "*socialist/marxist" by conservatives today:
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’ 44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’ 45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’” - Matthew 25:40-45
“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye." - Matthew 7:1-5
"Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” - Luke 18:25
"5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him." - Matthew 6:5-8
"19 Show me the coin used for paying the tax.” They brought him a denarius, 20 and he asked them, “Whose image is this? And whose inscription?” 21 “Caesar’s,” they replied. Then he said to them, “So give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.”" - Matthew 22:19-21
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.” - John 13:16
“But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?” - 1 John 3:17
"“Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.”" - Matthew 23:28
“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” - Matthew 22:37:40
“But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.” - Matthew 14:16
“And he said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.” - Luke 11:46
“Then he said to them, 'Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions'” - Luke 12:15
Uh oh,
@2ndpillar , it looks like you'll have to renounce either your political ideology or your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, so which is it going to be?
