If the moon were located 1/5th of this distance away, the continents would be completely submerged twice a day! The thickness of the earth's crust and the depth of the oceans appear to be carefully designed. Increases in thickness or depth of only a few feet would so drastically alter the absorption of free oxygen and carbon dioxide that plant and animal life could not exist.
How was he not an authority in these matters if he was a scientist?

No, they really are not. The Goldilocks zone is much bigger than you think that it is. And all you are doing right now is grasping at straws. This is not proper. You are only looking for excuses to believe a myth, the false Genesis narrative, and not trying to learn. And you are insulting other Christians in the process by assuming that all Christians believe the mythical parts of the Bible. Here is a clue. They don't. Most Christians have no problem accepting reality

Because science is a very very wide field He was an engineer and worked with rather basic physics. He did not work in cosmology and he did not study evolution on a professional basis at all.

The ozone layer formed naturally. It is simply the result of O2 in our atmosphere. Another big "So what?"
Did you check out the site that I linked? It is a Christian site with Christian scientists and they would be ashamed of your posts. Once again, why are you afraid of reality? As you said you do not have to be an atheist to be a scientist. Most Christians understand that Genesis is mythical.
