How does your God feel about entertainment?

How much time should one spend for entertainment? In what ways is it allowed or not allowed? Is God entertained?

How much time should one spend for entertainment?
For the entertainment of mind or soul ?
In what ways is it allowed or not allowed?
While entertaining mind, its not possible to entertain soul, and while entertaining soul, its not possible to entertain mind. Nothing is disallowed, you just need to choose one.
Is God entertained?
That much, that he doesn't have Time to answer this question :)

The Bible describes Jehovah as the happy God. (1 Timothy 1:11) God thus furnishes us all things richly for our enjoyment. (1 Timothy 6:17) I believe the things God gives us, food and drink, the wonders of creation, loved ones, all these are for our pleasure and delight. Having said that, I believe the Bible urges us to keep entertainment in it's place, second to the the more important things in life, such as our service to God. (1 Timothy 4:8, Matthew 6:33) and obviously, we should not seek entertainment that involves doing or viewing what is wicked. Such "entertainment" abounds today. (Psalm 97:10)

I had no idea that God sought to ration entertainment,
Nor do I suppose he censors entertainment.
If we live our lives as we are taught, we are likely to do that for ourselves in the choices we make.

I have never had any reason to think that God doesn't like us to have entertainment. There is no reason why He wouldn't like it.

Would he like if an adult with responsibilities and a family to feed would entertain himself all the time and spend all his money on gambling..it is fun I must admit.

Everything in moderation. Food is a necessity, but too much is bad. Entertainment is fine, but not if it goes overboard. And we who follow faith need to choose carefully how we are entertained.
I didn't think I really needed to say that- that it was a given.

But you said quite the opposite..

In general, I meant that there is no reason that God wouldn't like entertainment. I didn't say anything about too much entertainment. You are taking my words out of context and then putting your own interpretation on them; we all do that on occasion.

What I wonder is why religious fundamentalists such as puritan-type christians and muslims such as the taliban are so against anything that gives pleasure. Is it to keep people always feeling guilty? Is it to keep the pleasure police always feeling superior?

Extremists do not have brains, every non extremist can agree with this. And yea, guilt is one of the forces driving people towards religion, whether it is original sin or an actual crime you are seeking repentance for.

You can see I am from india, where 'hare krishna' finds its way into bollywood songs. And people dance like animals during festivals, so the gods love entertainment, apparently.

To increase fear, guilt, shame and self-hatred. In other words, to increase the very things without which their religion wouldn't survive.

I don't really think God cares much how we entertain ourselves. Any distinctions I made for these two questions would just be my subjective opinion.

I will say that I believe we are expected to entertain ourselves, though. I think the natural progression of priorities is: Survival > Comfort > Entertainment. Being a theist, I must expect that this was intended and therefore 'God's will'.

Is God entertained?

Yeah, and probably not much else.

Perhaps we are God's entertainment. What else can an omniscient, omnipotent being do for fun except create an unpredictable program? We are pre-determined to become indeterminant.

I was once a Seventh day Adventist, we were not allowed to dance, go to the movies, listen to worldly music and on and on it goes, when I left that church I started to live and enjoy life a lot more.
