One thing about my life I have regretably come to accept, is that I live my life in the Darkness. I had to leave the Church many years ago because I began to understand that I was different than them, I had a lot of sin in me, and it was in me to stay. I was born with sin, and it ruled much of my life. It was also just as easy for me to believe in God, since my memory began, as far back as I can recall. I just always believed in God, that has never been an issue with me, its been easy. But there was something in me that was drawn to sin. The way it made me " Feel", the pull it had has always been more powerful than I. Its just that when I was young, I didnot know what this " Darkness was." This " Thing inside of me", this influence that kept hurting me, rotting my sucesses and knocking me down. I didnot understand that this " Force" was indeed Great!
In Matthews 6:23, Jesus himself gives an astounding teaching;"But if your eye is bad, your whole body is full of Darkness. If therefore the Light in you is Darkness, how Great is the Darkness!" If what is really leading you, is this Great Darkness, then the Darkness is your Master. Its what has you. And it has had me all of my life. It has never taken away my belief in God, but it has continually asserted its dominance over me. I understand what the Great King David meant when he asked God not to let his sin have dominion over him.
But I wanted to give an inside view of this Great Darkness, because I live in it each day.
Peace.
mickiel,
I really appreciate your concern about the darkness that most of us live in.
Remember that Moses wrote in Genesis that the very inclinations of man are bad from his youth on, Gen 8:21. The only way we can come to an accurrate knowledge of God's will for us is to study His word, the Holy Bible, Prov 3:5,6, John 17:3, Rom 12:2. All true Christians must believe that God's word is truth, as Jesus said, John 17:17, 1Pet 1:25. Think about this; God could not judge the world if He allowed His word, the word that we will be judged on,to become adulterated, Rom 3:5,6, Col 3:5,6.
Here is something to think seriously about: This world is ruled over by Satan, the Devil, John 16:11, 2Cor 4:3,4, 1John 5:19, Rev 12:9. Satan is constantly trying to contaminate God's word, and is using people who have no love for God to do this. Notice some of the warnings we have from the apostles, Acts 20:28-30, 2Thess 2:3-12, 2Pet 2:1-3, Titus 1:16.
Think about the warning that Jesus gave us: Jesus said that many false prophets and false teachers would arise, and mislead many, Matt 24:11,12, Matt 7:15-23. Notice that in these scriptures we are told that we could recognize the false prophets by their FRUITS. This means we can tell by what they produce. Now think: Is the world getting better and better because of the teachings of Christendom, over these almost 2,000 years??? So, why is it that the teachings have bot produced better people?? The Bible says that the word of God is alive and powerful, Heb 4:12. God's word should help us to be able to put on the new personality mentioned at Eph 4:22-24. So, why is even people who are living in supposedly Christian countries, getting more immoral and violent??? Could it be that the teachers of Christendom are false teachers, who pretend to be teaching God's message, but are not. Isn't the evidence clear??? If they were actually teaching the word of God, the world would be a better place every day, not sinking into immorality and all kinds of violence.
Here is what happened ove these 2,000 years!!! False teachers introduced false teaching into Christianity. These were first rejected, but as time went on some of these false teaching were allowed to become part of Christendom. This went on from the time time the apostles died until now. When the apostles were alive they were the Authority, everyone listened to them, but after they died, false teacher took over, because no one had recognized authority to keep false teaching out.
In the fourth century, Constentine ruled over a supposedly Christian convention, and he decided what would be the official beliefs on some matters. This was the Nicine Council, and remember Constentine was not a Christian. This started the great falling away of Christendom, from true Christianity.
This SYNCRETISM has gone on so that today not ONE of the major beliefs that are the very foundation of Christendom, are based on truth. Christendom is completely corrupted, it is a travesty, nothing at all resembling Christianity of the first century.
You probably think I must be nuts, but I challenge you to research any ot the foundation beliefs and find out for yourself, Check HELLFIRE, Trinity, DEATH, Heaven , Sacerdotalism, Mary, The Eucharist.
PLEASE let me know if you find even one that is based on the Holy Scriptures.
