How important to you think it is to understand the true role of Jesus Christ?

According to the scriptures and gospel of Jesus Christ... everyone falls short of the glory of God and need to repent and be saved.

Now all you need to do is show why the scriptures and gospel of Jesus should be used as the basis for comparison.

Speak for yourself. If you feel that you need to repent and receive salvation, that's your issue. But leave everyone else out of it. I don't want to be included in your religious self-debasement.

To me the myth of Jesus and all other god-men, is to point us to ourselves, our inner self, or true self, its nothing to do with clinging to Jesus or any one for that matter.

There is some commentary around the forums, that really, I think many Xians actually view it that way.

I can see how you'd think that since most mod's won't let most true Christians speak openly.

If you don't want the truths of God~ don't look.
If you don't want the truths of God~ don't read.
If you don't want the truths of God~ don't change.
If you don't want the truths of God~ don't listen to His Son.

That’s exactly the message of the Gospel of Thomas. The Gospel opens with “These are the hidden words that the living Jesus spoke and Didymos Judas Thomas wrote them down”. “Didyomos” means twin in Greek, “Thomas” means twin in Aramaic. So “Didymos Thomas” would mean, “the twin, the twin”. The message of this Gospel is by applying these teachings or revelations one would be like Jesus or his twin.

The Jesus of the Gospels of Mathew, Mark and Luke portray Jesus as a sinless Israel. Well, if Jesus is Israel then who or what is the Messiah? Simple logic would dictate Israel must be its own Messiah. “Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one Instructor, the Messiah.” (Matthew 23:10)

This view of the Messiah isn’t all that radical within Judaism.
“Reform Judaism rejected traditional Jewish messianism. Its liturgical changes included the removal from the prayer book of all references to the Messiah and to an eventual return to the Land of Israel. The idea of the personal Messiah was reinterpreted as the longing for universal brotherhood within the context of ethical monotheism. More recently, the Reform concept of messianism has come to mean the result of human effort on behalf of creating the perfect world.” http://www.myjewishlearning.com/beliefs/Theology/Afterlife_and_Messiah/Messianism/Modern_Messianism.shtml?p=3

The word "Christian" means "Christ Like". To be "Like Minded". The same spirit is inside you as inside Jesus. It's what makes Us 1 with the God and His Son.

God did not create a robotic creation. We all have free will choice. Just know, God is righteous and Just and in the end, there will be no excuse as to why a man didn't listen to the only path that leads to Him- His Son Jesus.

What a sad excuse for a religion! What a horrid idea that its god would murder people just because they don't believe in him!

Baloney! What they won't let you do, is proselytize, and spam us with pages of Bible passages.

Don't go feeling all special inside.
We true non-Christians are not allowed to freely speak our minds either.

Roger have you started a thread on that? Seems interesting

The problem is it requires a very objective view of the canonical Gospels and books and letters that were not included in the New Testament. Some of my views are the direction in which modern day scholarship is going in.
