I'm right on the cusp between boomers and gen x. I see myself as gen x, since the boomers wouldn't claim me even when I was young. :p
I was born at an odd time and somehow at some points shifted. Growing up, people were still calling us Gen X. Then as I get older (late 20s older) I acquired a habit of arguing with people that Millenial applies to me just as well as Libra (which is just a no). And then I heard this Xinnial thing a few years agk, which apparently goes from the mid 70s to mid 80s, due to the trend of this group generally having had an easier time during the Recession.
And I look young enough that once--and hopefully not again because I'm tired of generation stuff and just want to be a regular, plain *** adulthood--I got a Gen Z and argued that's just a very strong no.

I thought of an interesting way to put it:
I am of an age where I don't have to feel left out and bummed out over having none of the historic events to happen during my life mentioned in We Didn't Start the Fire.

You can go with Fifty in Five instead. Same kinda idea, more modern vibe.

Yeah, modern vibes are not a concern, want or desire for me. This is why my music ranges, in years, from approximately between the Kinks and Limp Bizkit. And in my datedness I am just as shameless as Billy Joels "hot funk, cool punk, even if it's old junk. It's still rock n roll to me."

Heh...fair enough.
I meant modern vibes more in terms of the political and social topics mentioned in the song.

The Hoods are modern compared to Billy Joel and are still very active, but they formed in the mid 90s.
