Posting an article on how bad Republicans are on the deficit is pretty rich considering how much Obama has spent.

Um, the wars have cost Americans one trillion and counting... and none of these countries were even a threat.

Republican economic theory all but completely destroyed the US economy.

It simply isn't possible for Obama to do worse, because there's nothing left.

Now in their perverse bloodlust Republicans will send us to war with Iran and North Korea, which will finalize the destruction of the US as we know it.

No, the argument is hypocritical Republicans who want to reduce the deficit, but they aren't willing to do what it takes to make any real significant attempt to lower the deficit, which is to actually raise the taxes on the rich. Obama walked into a debt of over $1,000,000,000,000, a dollar that was rapidly loosing it's value, a collapsed housing market, rising unemployment, a record deficit, and an economy that was on life support. So it is folly to only put blame on Obama, when Bush pretty much handed over a nation with a weakened and crumbling foundation. There really wasn't much left for Obama to mess up.

The stimulus spending and bailouts dwarf the spending on the war.

First, you are correct there are a number of cowardly Republicans that won't specify what they would cut (thankfully Paul Ryan is not one of them).

Second, Obama's stimulus failed by his own standard, so yes we can judge Obama's job performance in certain areas.

Third, Obama blasted Bush's deficits and then his spending crushed whatever deficits that Bush left us. Obama has zero credibility when it comes to fiscal discipline.

Fourth, remember Obama's most repeated campaign promise was to cut taxes for 95% of Americans. So, he either lied in the campaign or he's lying now because there is no way we can pay for his spending on just taxing the rich.

This is a fact. Stimulus and bailout spending is in the multiple of trillions. It is much more than spent on the wars.

What a wonderful plan, have one person in 20 fund everyone else. :rolleyes:

It's time for everyone to sacrifice if we want a balanced budget.

I get the feeling most Republicans would change their opinion of war if we had to pass a tax increase to pay for it.

I get the feeling the same would be true if we had to pay as we go for the stimulus.

The problem I see right now is the lack of self sacrifice. It is too easy for 51% to vote that the other 49% pay for everything.

This is like three wolves and one sheep voting on whats for dinner. :yes:

Yeah, you go from saying I can't prove something to it doesn't matter when THE LAST REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT wanted to go to war with Iran.

Because we're still at war with Iraq and Afganistan, both of which border Iran - it's perfectly logical that the Republican war machine will take up were they left off.
