Since this has turned into such a serious discussion I'll share from my fear experiences and rant a bit. It offends me when someone is afraid of me. It offends others when I am afraid of them. Some develop schizophrenia where they literally are two different people, one when they feel safe and another when they don't feel safe. In wartime, soldiers have been known to experience false blindness due to fear. Their eyes work, but they cannot see. How surprising is it then that people mistreat one another out of fear and out of a sense of unfamiliarity?
