How was your day today? What happened? (can apply to any day in general, not just the posting day)

Yesterday, Mexico had a major earthquake (7.5) centered 240 km south of us. Pools sloshed and grocery shelves were emptied here, but there were no casualties or major structural damage locally to my knowledge. It struck while we were driving, and we didn't feel it. What's so interesting was the date:

"A 7.5-magnitude earthquake with its epicenter just off the Michoacan coast struck Monday, September 19 at 1.05 p.m. Astonishingly, the quake occurred on the same day as two previous ones that devastated the country in 1985 and 2017, killing over 10,000 and 350 people respectively. The strong quake was felt all along the Jalisco coast and in the Guadalajara metropolitan area, where buildings swayed and people rushed on to the street. No early reports of damages have been received. Schools have closed for the day. A tsunami warning was issued along the coast within 300 kilometers of the epicenter, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center. The quake started just an hour after the annual seismic alert drill that is observed in cities around the country on September 19. According to the Instituto de Física of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico (UNAM), the chances of three major earthquakes occurring on the same day within the space of 37 years is 0.000751%."

I'm glad you're okay! Did you have any damages at your home or anything like that?

Happy you and yours are unhurt. Any damage?

This day was another very average one, consisting of schoolwork(for the kids; I homeschool), buying vegetables from the market, and other necessary household chores.

I made stuffed peppers for supper; that went over well amongst the older folks, not so much with the littler ones. But, the toddler ate two cheese sandwiches, and its hard enough to get him to eat period, so I consider it a success.

Just finished my class on Climate physics where I explained to the students on why carbon dioxide and water vapor act as greenhouse gases while nitrogen and oxygen does not. Now I will go get coffee and then prepare the assignment solutions that my teaching assistant needs for grading. The day is going well enough.
How is yours?
Great thread topic by the way.

Alhamdulillah, egg-day today. We have nine non-veg, non-onion days days coming up in honor of Mother Goddess who does not herself mind non-veg.
Mixed up traditions. Vaishnavism intruding into Shaiva and Shakta traditions.
Shiva and my family Goddess 'Jwala' (Flame) are not against non-veg food. We used to offer meat to both of them.

We're preparing for our upcoming fast. I am going to have to eat a lot of birthday cake, because the day after the food restrictions begin. I think my husband eats so many fries during Navaratri that he risks turning into one...
