How Would You Describe Your Notion of an Ideal Adult Human?

How would you describe your notion of an ideal adult human?

That is, if someone were to ask you to describe the sort of adult human that you thought would be most likely to live a good life (such as a happy, a purposeful, a self-fulfilling, or a spiritual life), then how would you answer them?

Under the best conditions possible (best possible society, best possible government, etc), roughly what percentage of people do you think could attain to, or realize your ideal?

If you cannot come up with a single description that would fit all your notions of ideal adult humans, then maybe you can state as many of those notions as you'd like.

I would describe my ideal adult human as a strong individual (mainly, reasonably or justly confident, and someone who thinks for his or herself) who is at least competent at managing their ego (their "psychological self"), and who as fully as possible develops their talents and abilities while behaving in socially and environmentally responsible ways.

I don't know how many people could attain that under ideal or best conditions, but I'd guess a majority.

Sunstone.

Okay...Besides Sunstone...

:D

I'd say someone who seeks to continuously be enlightened. Being smart and capable, etc isn't enough. Enlightenment doesn't come from religion, but just the desire to be open minded and allow yourself to grow and learn.

Cacotopia

The world would be in it's own right a kind of cacotopia if it were full of only ideal humans.

Someone willing to lay down their life or suffer for the greater good...

Unless you're @Deidre... she has always had an exception to the suffering and death rules that make a person heroic in my book! :D

Subjective, since it will depend on personal morality and culture. Someone who's acting immoral in one society might be within their rights in another.

Personally, someone who takes care of themselves and their family/friends to the best of their ability and helps others when it's reasonable to so. Someone who's honest and does their best to be aware.

An ideal adult would be well informed, stable honest and have compassion for himself, others and nature.

Let me know when you find out. I'm still working on that "adult" thing.
There are negative and positive ways to be an adult, the good ones keep their inner child alive, the bad ones kill it in themselves and try to take it away from others... I had to resuscitate mine to become somewhat whole again. I was well on my way to becoming a huge adult-hole when it was dead.

Unfortunately, probably the kind of human being who doesn't try to analyse what would make a good and happy person but just gets on with being one.
Speaking of myself, analysing things is something that makes some of us crazy introverts happy.

Can't think of anything much that hasn't already been posted.

Kindness & compassion would be high on my list.

Not sure how to bring about the conditions that would help the majority to become "ideal".

Thanks for the thread!

I don't think that human nature, under the existing evolutionary paradigm, will allow for any moral ideal, that might make for the ideal human being to be realized. That is to say that evolution has limited both the spiritual and moral aspirations of our species. Thus to imagine a notion of an ideal human being is to imagine the possibility of acquiring a path to new moral insight and spiritual progress, able to break through the glass ceiling that evolution has imposed. While not a 'Christian' in any conventional or traditional sense, from my studies of scripture, I am convinced that the purpose of the Incarnation was to reveal such a path. Existing Christology, being an all too human theological construct is unable to replicate that revelation of two thousand years ago.
