humans evolving from monkeys

because there dna is similar as is there build
they go from ape to man in one move to ridicule it only they don't realize they are actualy ridiculing themselfs since they belief that man came without a ape predecessor making there story even more unlikely

I don't know what this incoherent post means, but human beings are a species of ape, so it makes no sense.

Homo sapiens is turning out to be a very, very detructive species of ape. We destroy habitats, and change envirnoments just for our own whims, regardless of the effects on other species.
Perhaps the reason we have not yet found other intelligent species is that intelligence is self-destructive as far as long term survival is concerned, as an intelligent species cannot control its own emotions enough to prevent eventual catastrophy.

Would someone explain to me why evolutionists belive that humans evolved from monkeys. In my opinion if we did evolved from monkeys then why is there still monkeys on earth today? Shoulden't they all be evolved?
We didn't evolve from monkeys. We have a common ancestor. That common ancestor no longer exists. However its offspring do. One of those offspring would be Homo Sapiens. Another is the chimpanzee.

First, you'll need to do us all a favor and cite at least one source (that doesn't originate with a creationist "think" tank) which indicates that evolutionists actually believe that humans evolved from monkeys. Please.

And remember that in this context, "think" is being applied in the only the loosest possible sense.

In my opinion

This is a dead giveaway that there are going to be problems. Since when did ignorance or uninformed opinion become a valid point of view?

if we did evolved from monkeys then why is there still monkeys on earth today? Shoulden't they all be evolved?

The boilerplate reply to that hackneyed creationist trope goes like this:

"If Americans are descended from Europeans ... then how come there are there still Europeans?"

Would you please be so kind as to answer that question, splitfangr06?

...

The answer is that humans did not evolve from modern monkeys. The current scientifically accepted consensus is that modern humans and modern monkeys all share a common ancestor.

Keep in mind that humans are apes. No doubt about that. Apes with compound interest, but apes nonetheless.

Ever since the split, humans have been busy evolving into better humans and monkeys have been busy evolving into better monkeys.

because of all the characteristics we have in common.

as for the reason why they are still around...

for similar reasons that there are still model T fords that are being driven, even when there are much more evolved cars that are being used.

News to me.
We did not evolve from monkeys. I will spell this out for you, as if you were a child.

Monkeys, gorillas, us, neanderthals and so on evolved from a common ancestor way back in our line. Much like how you & I, if we go far enough back, share an ancestor somewhere, somehow, despite the fact that you are making me now question it.

look if you were able to take a live specimen of australopethicus amenicus and show it to an average joe, how would he describe how it looked? pretty sure that something along the lines of ape, monkey, or chimp would be in the description.

And i'm pretty sure the reasons why trait divergence (and convergence) occurs still are used. or did natural selection theory get a big update or go out the window?

Or is there some hangup with a lack of finding bridge species going on here, that i'm missing?

now the op didn't strike me as requesting very technical info. but really similar to the "OMG humans are related to other critters, how does that even work?!?!?!?" shock type questions. Perhaps i mistook what he was asking for

And iv'e read the link given a few times now. please at least tell me what i'm supposed to be embarrassed about if i have no clue?

A conversation I have had many a time with my father. I try to explain using a writer's analogy: evolution is like a copying error, the original manuscript stays the same but what you have written is now different (albeit, perhaps, only slightly).

That 'hangup' does not exist. We have plenty of bridge species. The evidence is there, the problem is your understanding of it.

or replace the term monkeys with neanderthals, lemurs or whatever other proto simian species you want to use.

We have more closer common ancestry with apes, NOT MONKEYS!

Chimpanzees, gorillas and few others are not monkeys; they are apes.

Humans and apes have to go back further in time to find their common ancestry to monkeys.

Zoology 101: apes and monkeys belonged to different specie groupings, and more distantly related.

I assume this is trolling. Did you google the answer before posting this thread?

In the off chance you aren't.... we didn't evolve from any monkeys that currently live today. We share a common ancestor with them. You came from your parents. so did your siblings. You and your siblings share a common ancestor. But you are not descended from your siblings.
