Humans: The Mind of God in the body of an Animal

Homo sapiens mated with neanderthal, this is a fact

homo sapiens were almost identical for the last 200,000 years

stop the nonsesne, unless you have a source to back it up with.

stop your nonsense - what have you been reading? Where are YOUR sources?

There is NO evidence that we mated with Neanderthals -they have found similar DNA due to common ancestry not mating.

HomoSapiens started evolving 250,000yrs ago - however speciation in the homidid class was a complicated and drawn out process - again I will quote the conversation I had with R. Dawkins* - arrogant as he may be still one of the worlds leading experts on evolution - that if you had a time machine that went back in 10,000yr jumps, each time it picked up a homo sapien - those 3 jumps behind would not be able to produce offspring with the most recent pick up (the definition of speicies is the ability to produce fertile offspring - thus demonstrating the complxity of speciation)

Homo sapiens as we are NOW are effectively 30,000yrs old..>

* I was fortunate to obtain back stage passes for my 12 brightest high school students to meet Richard Dawkins, Jim Al Khalili, Ben Goldachre and Brian Cox - awesome day

Human - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Humans (Homo sapiens) are primates of the family Hominidae, and the only living species of the genus Homo.[2][3][4] They originated in Africa, where they reached anatomical modernity about 200,000 years ago and began to exhibit full behavioral modernity around 50,000 years ago

your sources are old and outdated

Neanderthal - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

an analysis of a first draft of the Neanderthal genome by the same team released in May 2010 indicates interbreeding may have occurred

"The proportion of Neanderthal-inherited genetic material is about 1 to 4 percent. It is a small but very real proportion of ancestry in non-Africans today," says Dr. David Reich of Harvard Medical School, who worked on the study. This research compared the genome of the Neanderthals to five modern humans from China, France, sub-Saharan Africa, and Papua New Guinea. The finding is that about 1 to 4 percent of the genes of the non-Africans came from Neanderthals, compared to the baseline defined by the two Africans

This indicates a gene flow from Neanderthals to modern humans, i.e., interbreeding between the two populations

Well we won't agree then - I posit that ART is the evidence and justification of our difference. if you don't accept that then we're at a dead end, brother.

See this is where you fail, God is not justified by science so how can you think that these assumptions you've been throwing around are anymore justified?

Great justification.

am i really talking to a Satanist!? :slap:

Not really, your just babbling and making incoherent remarks. I'm really the only one speaking here.

OK - right back at you - you're the one with out dated sources - "released in May 2010 indicates interbreeding may have occurred "

Here's my up to date 2012 source: Study casts doubt on human-Neanderthal interbreeding theory | Science | The Guardian

and if you want to go with Wiki - it says it all there - "began to exhibit full behavioral modernity around 50,000 years ago"

key word there is "began".... so my 30,000yr estimation is not far off.

I don't have PhD's in evolutionary biology - but i tend to listen to the ones who do....

yes it does throw it all out of whack

it states behaviour, not a change in species

OK - right back at you

not enough, it only cast doubt

that is one group of researchers that state

"has questioned this conclusion, hypothesising instead "

that means another guess, that hasnt quite yet overturned anything in the past.

and it surely doesnt state we could not breed with neanderthal

but this states they did from your article

Prof Svante Pääbo, at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig, who led the sequencing of the Neanderthal genome in 2010 and has championed the idea that modern humans interbred with Neanderthals, said he was surprised that Manica's work had been published, since his original paper had admitted a role for substructuring in Africa in the sharing of DNA between humans and Neanderthals. "But we regard this as a less parsimonious explanation," he said.
Pääbo has co-authored a paper, which is yet to undergo peer-review, to further support his thesis that humans and Neanderthals did in fact interbreed. "We find that the last gene flow from Neanderthals (or their relatives) into Europeans likely occurred 37,000-86,000 years before the present, and most likely 47,000-65,000 years ago," he writes. "This supports the recent interbreeding hypothesis, and suggests that interbreeding may have occurred when modern humans carrying Upper Paleolithic technologies encountered Neanderthals as they expanded out of Africa."

why is everyone so keen to put humans down

The term god-like being thrown around means just that. Every animal would be god like. All animals have the spark of life which is what we all have in common, not more or less. The other values your assigning are subjective not to mention that bees are better at math and chimps out perform the average human in memory.

It isn't that I want to put humans down but I'm trying not to put God down by bringing it down to human level. You look at a human and say, oh that is god-like, is pretty arbitrary. Not to mention the fact, again, that we don't out perform in every area.

Creation is very interesting which is probably why you keep bringing up art. Our brains don't really create, our imagination works by rearranging aspects that we are already aware of. Don't forget that a human had train for years to be able to paint the sistene chapel and it isn't like everyone can paint like that. Hell that elephant paints better than I do, lol. Also you end up just calling Michaelangelo, Einstein and Leonardo god-like since we can't all be at their level.
