Bihar Al-Anwar, V. 78, P. 268, No. 183

-Imam al-Sadiq (as) said, ‘Verily when someone dies, Allah sends an angel to the most grieved member of his family, who strokes his heart and makes him forget the agony of grief, and if it were not for this, the world would never thrive.’

Al-Kafi, V. 3, P. 227, No. 1

-Imam al-Sadiq (as) said, ‘Whoever gloats over an affliction that has befallen his fellow brother does not leave this world until he is tried similarly.’

Al-Kafi, V. 2, P. 359, No. 1

-Imam al-Sadiq (as) said: "Increase in the remembrance of death, for no sooner does a person increase his remembrance of death than he abstains from the world."
[Bihar al-Anwar, v.82,p.168, no.3.]

-The Prophet (s.a.w.) said, ‘Whoever anticipates death will hasten to do good deeds.’

Bihar Al-Anwar, V. 77, P. 171, No. 7

-The Prophet (s.a.w.) said, ‘Among the portents of the Hour are the spread of semiparalysis and sudden death.’

Al-Kafi, V. 3, P. 261, No.39

-Imam al-Sadiq (a.s.) said, ‘Every person who is dying and is a follower of us and hates our enemies will be visited by the Messenger of Allah SAAW, the Commander of the Faithful, Hasan and Husayn (a.a.), and they will make him happy, and give him glad tidings. But if he is not a follower of ours, he will see them according to how bad he had been.’ The proof of this is the saying of the Commander of the Faithful (as) to Harith al-Hamdani: ‘O Har Hamdan, whoever dies will see me,Both believer and hypocrite alike.’

Tafsir Al-Qummi, V. 2, P. 265

-Imam al-Sadiq (a.s.), with regard to Allah’s verse in the Qur’an: "For them is good news in the life of this world" [Qur’an 10:64], said, ‘It is that these two give them glad tidings of Heaven during their death, meaning Muhammad and Ali (as).’

Ma`Ani Al-Akhbar, P. 289, No. 7

-Imam al-Hasan (a.s.), in answer to a person about the reason for hating death, said, ‘Because you have wrecked your Hereafter and built your world, and you hate to move from a constructed place to a demolished place.’

Ma`Ani Al-Akhbar, P. 390, No. 29

-Imam al-Sadiq (a.s.) said, ‘Six things benefit a person after he passes away: a child who seeks forgiveness for him, a copy of the Qur’an which he leaves behind, a plant that he planted, water that he donated in charity, a well that he had dug, and a tradition that others take from him and [practise] after him.’

Imam Ali Al-Rida (peace be upon him) wrote: Inform my Shia that my ziara (visit) equals a thousand pilgrimages, according to Allah Almighty.

I said to Abu Jaafar (Imam Jawad) (peace be upon him): A thousand pilgrimages?!

He (peace be upon him) said: Yes indeed.. It even equals a million pilgrimages for who visits him knowing his right.

The Prophet (s.a.w.) said, ‘Allah, Blessed and most High, is more affectionate to females than to males, and any man who brings happiness into the heart of a woman he is related to, Allah will make him happy on the Day of Resurrection.’

Al-Kafi, V. 6, P. 6, No. 7

It has been narrated that Prophet Moses (a.s.) addressed Allah, saying, 'My Lord, guide me to an action the performance of which will earn me Your good pleasure.’ So Allah revealed to him, 'O son of Amran, verily My pleasure lies in that which you will be averse to and you will not be able to endure it.’ So Moses fell prostrate, weeping and cried out, 'My Lord! You have selected me to speak to when You have not spoken to any before me, and yet You do not guide me to that action by which I may earn Your pleasure!’ So Allah revealed to him, 'Verily My pleasure lies in your pleasure with whatever I decree.’

Bihar Al-Anwar, V. 82, P. 143, No. 17

Imam al-Hasan (a.s.) said, 'He who seeks to please Allah at the expense of displeasing people, Allah suffices him in everything including his affairs with people. But the one who seeks to please people at the expense of Allah's displeasure, Allah relegates him to those very people.’

Bihar Al-Anwar, V. 71, P. 208, No. 17

It is narrated in Bihar al-Anwar that Prophet Moses (a.s.) said, 'O My Lord, what is a sign of Your pleasure with a servant of Yours?' So Allah revealed to him, saying, 'When you see Me preparing My servant for My obedience and averting him from My disobedience, [know that] it is a sign of My pleasure.’

Al-Sadiq a.s. from his fathers from the Prophet (pbuh) from Jibreel from Allah:

“Whoever sinned a small or a major sin, but doesn’t know that it is to me to punish or forgive him then I wouldn’t forgive that sin ever. And whoever sinned a small or large sin but knew that it is to me to punish or forgive him, then I shall forgive him.”

Abu `Abdillah (imam Sadiq a.s.) said:

The Nasib is not someone who holds Nasb (hatred) for us, the People of the House, for you will not find a man saying: I hate Muhammad and the Family of Muhammad. Rather, the Nasib (who holds Nasb) is someone who holds Nasb for you while he knows that you are loyal (have walaya) to us and you are from our Shi`a.

Abil Hassan Ali ibn Musa Al-Reza (s) said: "... Another reason that the Honorable the Exalted God drowned Pharaoh was that he sought help from Moses when he realized that he was going to be drowned, and he did not seek God’s help. Then the Honorable the Exalted God revealed to Moses (s):

‘O Moses! You did not help Pharaoh since you had not created him. Had he asked Me for help, I would have saved him.’”
