I am a Believer, So Mock Away.

Me Myself

Truth is, not all believers can take it, the same way not all atheists can take it.

We shouldn´t, they shouuldn´t.

I have never mocked anyone for being an atheists. I don´t diserved to be mocked for being a theist.

Would I be hurt? Of COURSE not. That´s not the point. People are immature enough without being promoted to behave like jerks.

Mocking SOMEONE for their beliefs (not the same as mocking the belief) only promotes hostility and anger. And shows that you haven´t grown from backyard bully, or that if yo were bullyied by people in the opposite viewpoint, they surely made damage enough to turn you in what is truly wrong with the world.

If we are to mock it should be ideas, not those who hold them. I don´t respect atheism at all, I don´t respect any belief for that matter. I do respect atheists though, and I do respect people.

Ok maybe not all theist should but those of us in the Christian traditions should. Why? Because Jesus told us to take it, he told us to bless people who are spiteful towards us.

Kathryn

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
The straw man also called Richard Dawkins who some religious people attribute twisted versions of what the real Dawkins actually said, though... he doesn't sound like that nice a person, but since he doesn't really exist, I don't think you have to worry about him.

I'm not worried about either version of him. I do find him entertaining at times so I hope he keeps talking.

As an Atheist I would say Kathryn (http://www.religiousforums.com/forum/2887489-post2.html) is spot on...

I have no need to mock. I debate here at RF. Outside of here I really don't care who believes what. Believe what you want as long as they don't infringe on my rights
Don't worry, I'll step up & mock when the timid or civil back down.
CynthiaCypher says sacred spiels serially, suggesting a silly surfeit of certainty, when she isn't selling her scurrilous socialist screeds to swishy sailors surfing at the seashore.
