What people are telling you. In this case, Riverwolf's post about not being Christian.

I read his post. He seems educated yet his points can be argued from both sides. I guess what I want to say is...I don't wanna burn in hell if I'm wrong. I am looking for someone to steer me to some info that might change my mind. I am a sponge for information. I love to read so can you give me some titles?

If you read "I'm not Christian," why did you start spouting off about the Bible?

Not every religion believes in hell.

I'm also panentheistic; specifically advaita ishvaravada as taught in Shaiva Siddhanta. I also practice a very basic form of Yoga.

You can see what religion we are under our usernames.

I assume you're not American...Your religion is not very common here in the US. I respect what you believe and hope I haven't offended you.

Actually, yes I am. I became Hindu after reading the Upanishads, but I was born and raised here. My ethnicity is Greek and Irish.

Truth
I wouldn't think so: Jews don't really believe in Hell, deep or shallow, fiery or otherwise. So nobody's eternally damned, regardless of what they've believed or not believed, done or not done.

They don't? hmm so if there is no hell, what is there? heaven i suppose from your post, so everybody goes to heaven regardless of what they believed in, then whats so special about being a jew? i mean if heaven was for everybody, why would God be so kind to jews and call them 'the chosen ones" chosen for what?

This doesn't make sense, you mean to say all rapists, murderers, criminal people will be together with the nice people in heaven? Oh my that sounds like this world exactly! why go to the next world which isn't going to be perfect?

Truth
I get cold feet often, it could be a bonus.

If you get cold feet, you probably should investigate if there is a God out there, before it gets too cold for you to find that out.

I find the purpose of this entire world useless if there is No purpose or continuity to it. I don't understand how athiests convince themselves that everything came into exist itself, and we're all here by some scientific blessing looking to destroy this world.

Just like this forum came into existence by itself, and we're all the evolved products of some atoms who self programmed our systems into posting on it randomly, trying to evolve into something better like a dinosaur? No, alien! : P

Nah... You and I and all the people on this forum are going to the same place that Hitler and Gandhi both went to... Narnia

HAHAHAHAHA Just kidding... Nirvana, you know, but without rebirth on our trail

Then again this is just my opinion

"Special about being a jew?" It's not about how special you are, it is how much you love your God, most people would (or should at least) worship their God if the God is loving enough to create/co-exist with the universe... Even if the God told you that you were going to hell when you die, with no chance to heaven.

"criminal people will be together with the nice people in heaven?" Why not? Maybe they will feel guilty for all they have done (the evil) when they see perfectness and completeness (the Light/God).

Though, I find it more easier to believe in a type of worldism (all people going to heaven, don't want to say Universalism to get people confused with UU's :D). Yet even easier to believe all good go to heaven, nonbelievers that are good also, but bad, even of the same religion go to hell.

Then again, I believe in the peacefulness, nothingness after death. The "Infinite but Short Pause" as I like to describe it. It can go on for infinity but if you wake up it would seem like you didn't even go into the pause :D

Thats simple to understand, it follows the line of just because we dont know how a thing happend we do not jump to the conclusion God did it, the history of us finding out as fact that God did anything in particular is nil.
Naturalist answers have always without exception replaced supernatural ones.

Added to that there have been 200,000+ gods worshiped in history, added to that God refuses to make contact with us and added to that the illogical propositions brought to our ears by theists never come with a shred of reliable evidence, we are told have faith like we are being sold some miracle penis pill.

Faith is how lies get swallowed from the mouths of con men, snake oil sellers and crooked politicians.

Added to that God is not defined, it is a word that mean lots of different things to lots of different people, if God or Gods exist nobody seems to know who he/she/they are, exactly what he/she/they purposes etc.

if ten kids are in a house thats been wrecked, and when you blame them they say a dinosaur did it and they swear its the truth, you may believe them, however if you take each to one side in private and ask for a descrption of the dinosaur and each gives a wildly different answer, you might be inclined to think the dinosaur didnt exist and there must be another explanation for the mess.

Thats it in a nutshell for me,

Not "for all eternity," no; nor is hell "fiery (save in a spiritual/metaphorical sense)."

Scripture states that God, in His infinite Love and Mercy, assists even those who've placed themselves in the worst sort of hell (defined as spiritual separation from God) eventually to draw spiritually near to Him (the definition of Heaven)!

Please note, BTW, that Heaven and hell exist here and now as well as after death, and every one of us is in one or the other at each instant as a function of "where our heads are at."

Peace, :)

I don't know why anyone would be concerned with where a God they don't believe in is going to send them.
