I Don't Want a Tattoo

Winter is upon us, and you know what that means! Yes, my husband has busted out the tattoo gun and is tattooing random stuff on himself.

I have a few tattoos, but I don't want another one; I can think of nothing of significance to permanently put on myself.

Can you think of something I need permanently etched on my skin?

Is there anything you want tattooed on you?

What do you already have tattooed on you?

I got a tattoo way too young and way before average citizens thought them appropriate. I was five when I got mine. It was in kindergarden class. Yup, I had just sharpened a pencil and was goofing off with it as I walked back to my table, and it ended up getting stuck deep into my left hand near my thumb. I pulled it out and quite a bit of graphite was left in the wound. You can still see the graphite under my skin some 55 years later.

As for a tattoo in recent years, well I'm too much of a rebel to get a popular thing like a tat. Can you believe it, it's actually a sign of rebellion to not get one.

Nope. "Break in case of emergency" on forehead?

Opposite. I have a tattoo I want covered up. And another I was enthusiastic about when I started it years ago, and now it's lost it's appeal.

I have roughly 7 tattoos. Both of my calves have a large piece, both shoulder blades, a tattoo down my spine, I sleeve on my left arm and a word tattooed on my right wrist.

Nothing in there but hot air!

Absolutely not

Three reasons:

1) Pain
2) Don't like the look of them
3) Don't trust myself not to regret it in future

Also, an innocent looking tattoo may turn out to be obscene or offensive in some other culture

That's what I always wonder about Westerners who get supposedly exotic tattoos in some forigen script which they insist means "power of truth" or something like that.....

Does it actually means "I am an idiot"??????

That's what I always think

Never get a foreign language tattoo lol. Regretted tattoos can be covered up with another you do like.

Pain is relatively negligible these days. Although I got them for the pain myself.

Yhere are even topical lidocaine creams for tattooing purposes, just please tell your artist before they start working if you used some.

I thought about it but never did. Mostly because I see what happens to tattoos when you get old.

When I was 19, I got a cartoon guy(Trent from Daria, for those who remember it) tattooed on my back. I was told I'd regret it because it would fade, look bad, etc.

It has. I love it! He aged with me!

You guys have your own tattoo gun? Awesome!

Post No Bills.

I don't have the desire for tattoos I did 40 years ago. Back then, they were much more uncommon. Now, everyone has them. It would have to be something extraordinary and personal for me to consider it now. My father had several from his time in the services. I never ended up getting any.
