I know. Kinda like people who are certain that they have nothing to learn from people they find a little rude.

Proselytizers are just salespeople -- often, very amateur salespeople -- that we give a slightly special status to because they're selling religion, and not, say, recycled batteries. But like most other salespeople, proselytizers usually believe their product or service is more than worth their prospect's time. "Oh! How can anyone not see the value of my size D batteries! Why, their color alone is thrilling! Oh!"

You let them in and you spend the next hour trying to push them back, they are somewhat forcefull.

I been to the Vatican and was never bothered.

Da man, when I walk thru!
I wonder if I knock on their church door, and offer to preach the word of Buddha would they be in it

That's it, in gonna do it.

Lol, you won't you won't.

Hahaha. And I'll go door to door to spread the Good News of Satan! :p

Now that would be awesome, can I be your partner on that particular venture? :D

If your door is closed to strangers, maybe you might want to see what happens when you open up and pretend that a stranger with the audacity to ring your security phone isn't trying to ruin your day, but is just trying to get through his.

I know. Kinda like people who are certain that they have nothing to learn from people they find a little rude.

But seriously, it is very hard. I wonder, how much you would learn if you took on that challenge instead of dismiss it out of hand? You made them an enemy, that's easy. Imagine how much you would learn by trying to make them a friend, forgiving their pride and judgement without comment, and doing so without giving up any believe you aren't willing to give up?

I think you may find that this relationship is less one-sided than you want to believe, and the disrespect and attitude you feel from them might be related to what you are giving off to start with.

Or you can live life wanting to be left alone and wanting them to feel misguided for their convictions.

While I do agree with your beliefs, sometimes it doesn't work that easily. I've talked with some JW, and Mormon's that were amazing people and left after I was done talking to them. On the other hand, i've had some that literally refused to leave, and got almost angry when I forced them out. Arguing with people like this definitely makes you more articulate in the expression of your beliefs though.

I use to love to have the JW's drop by. Usually the would leave muttering to themselves or condemning me to eternal damnation. But they haven't been by in a few years. I must be on some type of 'no contact' list. I miss those guys.

Lol, that's awesome.

I saw it on youtube one time. Priceless!

That was absolutely awesome. Thank you sir.

Just tell them you are busy today, but make a half hour appointment with them at another time then schedule the Mormons for the same timeslot, and prepare yourself some popcorn before they arrive :p

LOL, I think I might have to try that out sometime for real.

Indeed, a lot of them can be, and I definitely see your point. It's not always easy to be nice with people that are annoying.

Think about for a minute, visualize it.

He stood outside an apartment block and rang every bell in the block.

44 apartments in 3 blocks,that's 132 apartments.

The fact that he was still outside shows how unsuccessful he was.

Jehovas wittness ringing my apartment security phone again, this is a security building, my home, he is a stranger.
Besides that its quite rude, they accost you at the train station and mall to, enough is enough.

If your apartment were on fire, or some other grave danger you were not aware of was occurring, would you appreciate being warned or would you consider their ringing your doorbell "quite rude"? Jw's are simply doing what Jesus Christ and the early Christians did, sharing a message of comfort and hope with their neighbors. I believe Jws are accomplishing the work described in Matthew 24:14; "And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come." It certainly has reached you "for a witness." It is your right to reject the message, and Jws recognize that. But they are the only Christians I know of who care enough about their neighbors to visit them to help them understand the Bible, and millions of people welcome these visits. If you do not, simply tell them you are not interested.

The big difference is that Yeshua never told his disciples to disturb people in their homes. His message was taken, not forced. Also the JW's that darkened my door could not have cared less about my welfare. These guys simple had an agenda to proselytize as many people as possible. Many left my home understanding more about the Bible then when they came in. Or at least they had more information; it was up to them to accept it or not.

Is it true that there's a rule that a JW must convert someone in order to be in the 144,000-lottery?

Hi Shermana, Satan knows that Messiah Yeshua is raising up His Faithful 2nd Witness (Psa 89:37) to give It's testimony to this world, so Satan, in trying beat Him to the punch, has been raising up counterfeits to deceive. Part of that deception is their 144,000 lottery, but wouldn't you like to know how to win the biggest lottery ever? KB Please tell me how you think the "moon" will turn to blood?

I can't believe what I'm reading, I dont care about Matthews word in the bible.

Your fire statement is so rediculous, as I said I will attend church if I need to, everyone knows about jw's and that's why people dont go.

Who are they, the lambs yes,and we are the ignorant goats who need saving, worse still are us Satan guided Buddhists.

What on earth would we talk about, keep in mind they are on a mission to convert people, that's a showstopper right there.

LOL, why don't you try flipping the script and convert them. They always love that.

if they enter my home, their absolute mission will be to convert me to their religion, that is why they set out in the morning.

Knowing that, why on earth would I give them my time.

I should point something out: Jehovah's Witnesses don't call what they attend "Church", they call it Kingdom Hall.

But of course the Bible shows early Christians did visit people's homes. Acts 5:42 reports that despite being threatened and beaten for preaching, "every day in the temple and from house to house they continued without letup teaching and declaring the good news about the Christ, Jesus." Why? Acts 10:42 answers; "[God] ordered us to preach to the people and to give a thorough witness that this is the One decreed by God to be judge of the living and the dead." True Christians today do likewise, I believe.

I'll give the benefit of my doubt that your question is a serious one. There is no such thing as a 144,000 lottery, so the obvious answer is no.

No, they are not there to convert you to their religion. They are there to share the hope of everlasting life that they believe will come to those who know and love the only true God and his Son. (John 17:3) They volunteer their time and finances to do this because they love their neighbor and God. As I mentioned previously, if you're not interested, just tell them so. It is not the intent of Jws to bother people, and they do not insist you listen to them. Millions of people have been visited by Jws and can attest to this.
