I need a flamethrower because...

Few of us need a flamethrower.
But many of us want one.
But many of us want one.
The local news (Fox), said that they were 500K.
Unsurprisingly, Fox was incorrect. But they did have a very entertaining news program.
Also, breaking news. Marion County has lots of potholes in late winter. Yuuge numbers of potholes! And there's a country music concert coming up. That's what passes for news on the Fox network, apparently.

I was wondering the legality of flamethrowers. Like could I get into a Donald Trump rally with one?

I had assumed that flame throwers would've been illegal, but apparently private ownership of them isn't restricted by federal law in the U.S.
They are heavily restricted and regulated in California and Maryland, however.

Aw shucks. I was thinking of getting one because I wanted to eliminate some weeds quickly.

I was mistaken. Apparently in those states you can get one with a permit, and if the flame doesn't extend beyond a certain length.

I'll take on a terrorist with a flamethrower any day of the week over a terrorist with a gun.
So I watched the Boring flamethrower.....meh.....
It's not a flamethrower (which throws fuel too) at all.
It's just an over-priced nicely styled torch like the ones
we use for applying roofing. Did I mention "meh"?

I think the concern is accidental damage/destruction of property and accidental injury/death of people.
But I know how you can easily make it better.
You need a pressurized sprayer firing thru the
flame to get some distance to the burning fuel
you deposit on your prey....say a mailman.
That is a GREAT idea!
