I feel that's like saying some golden showers are better than others.
If you like golden showers, I suppose so.
I prefer softened water for my yearly shower.

Firing squads result in a reliable quick death with no suffering.
Lethal injection, gas, & Old Sparky are worse.

If we want to kill people for doing something bad, then why are we concerned about doing it humanely? That doesn't make sense. Killing them is not humane. Killing them is about our wanting to kill them, so why not go all out? Draw and quarter them. Boil them in oil. Burn them at the stake with green wood which burns more slowly. Infect them with a flesh-eating disease, and so forth.

Make it as horrible and as awful as it can be, since it's for our benefit anyway, to taste vengeance on our tongues and satisfy our craving for sanctioned murder. Why mask it as being humane, when the very act itself however its done is not humane.

There is definitely pain and suffering involved still, and not everyone is a marksman and "clean" executions just do not seem to be a concern or priority among still doing it.

It's like a Methodist minister I listened to who said: "Why do we kill people who kill people to show that killing people is wrong?".
Exactly. But if you kill someone legally, then it's not actually killing. It's called justice, or social or ethnic cleansing, or whichever lipstick you want to put on that pig whose name is Vengeance. In either case, not-killing is showing that killing is wrong, much more than killing in return.

I meant to say they "are worse".
Post is fixed.
Don't need marksmen at such close range.
And were I condemned, I wouldn't care if
they ugly up (even more so) me corpse.

Hmm, hanging, beheading (guillotine in this case) and shooting are all relatively painless and free of suffering if done right. You could say the same about gas and lethal injection, too. But I don't count those as they take longer amounts of time. I choose guillotine because it's basically instant and hard to screw up.

Lol, crucifixion and burning at the stake.

I think I'm getting used to these threads now. Just think of the maddest **** you can, then start a thread on it in the North American Politics section. People will naturally assume it's genuine. Depends. Theres definitely been cases in the past where firing squad executions have been botched just like every other kind of execution. Also depends on the method

Some firing squads give most of the shooters blanks, and some are given live rounds. This is to keep the shooters guessing if they actually killed the person or not, as to alleviate the emotional burden of killing a man. Not sure if it works, but it was a common practice in the past

Yeah, I threw those in there just in case someone thought they were more humane. At least with crucifixion, it gets you out in the open air. Being stabbed might be worse.
Who in their right mind would think those are humane?

Did you mean that being stabbed would be worse than crucifixion or am I misreading you?

Dear lord, who thinks the guillatine is humane?! People's heads are still alive like 18 or so seconds after being decapitated that we know of!

Not that I would oppose pharmaceutical companies from refusing to sell their products to executioners, but it is curious just the same. This could mean that lethal injection could be off the table as a form of execution.

Electrocution and lethal gas can take a long time, prolonging the agony. Firing squad seems quick enough. Hanging seems pretty nasty, although a guillotine might be quick.

Pump em full of morphine. They will feel good, go to sleep and die quietly
