...what evidence exists that tigers and house cats are descended from a common, cat-kind ancestor, what would creationists provide?

Hmm? all dinos evolved into birds? you sure about that??

Please read more carefully.

Modern birds are classified as dinosauria, the last surviving clade of the dinosaurs. Birds evolved from the therapod dinosaurs. And yes I am sure.

Cats evolved from the miacids, so did dogs.

If you were genuinely interested you would have just looked it up.

The first mammals emerged at about the same time as the first dinosaurs.

Two real creationist answers that I have seen often on this board:
1. They look like the same kind so they are the same kind.
2. We call them cats, so they must be the same kind.

This is as ridiculous as my answer of proto-mammals. If you don't think of them as dinosaurs, whatever. lol

the bible says that 'wild' animals and 'domestic' animals were created. So there would have been wild cats and domestic cats who where unrelated.

I dont know if anyone has tried to breed a wild and domestic cat before, but if they could reproduce, they are of the same 'kind' or are linked by ancestry.

Hm. I'm no expert on this, but I'd guess if they were to go by anything... a slightly large sabre-tooth-tiger-lion thing?
I can't get my head around creationism, though, it's too weird for me. Even when I was playing devil's advocate just a moment ago to see what kind of ideas I could come up with, I still ended up with evolution in there. I'd make a terrible creationist.

Lol I think that's close enough to the correct answer. Btw, creationism is still compatible with that dude.
