Would you consider me moral if I were a genius biologist who created a virus that turns people into baby killing maniacs, with the sole purpose of letting people educate themselves and learn from it?

Society will protect themselves from those trying to kill others.
Knowledge is a funny thing. Through adversity, one can blindly stumble into discovering great things that will advance mankind in so many ways. Every bad thing that happens can bring good things. Your baby killing virus might lead scientists to a cure for many other diseases which will extend life longer. If we look at past history, mankind is living longer and longer due to overcoming the adversities of the medical problems people have encountered. The system is working.
So often, it is easier, due to hurt, to see only what is on the surface. In reality, more knowledge exists beyond that. One must be open enough to expand the view in order to get the entire picture.
How do the events of the world change things? It is always for the better in the longer term. For the babies who do not make it, they are eternal and have often volunteered before they were ever born in order to teach and advance others.
The Love of my life died of lung cancer and never smoked at all. I have a choice to value the hurt of loosing her or celebrate the wonderful joy we had. I choose to celebrate. Further, perhaps the influences she made on me lives on through my interactions with others. See, everything that happens changes so many through the ripples of changes of so many. The dynamics and reaches are amazing. So much happens that one can be unaware of. As a whole, it will get better in spite the Drama.
Let's also remember that with so many dying of cancer, mankind pushes forward toward discovering advances that will help so many in the future. All is not lost.
