OK.. Jesus was the son of God/God personified, BUT.. How this is linked with me being a christian ?
Well, it's part of the fundamental Christian belief structure. I did also specify that you had to believe the Bible was, in whole or in part, inspired by or directly attributable to God.

Supppose any terriost would have a been agreed with a belief that jesus was the son of god, or so and so as you said, Than will you call such person a christian ? :)
Ever heard of the IRA?

No, I haven't because you haven't actually responded to any of them with anything more that "that's nice." That wasn't my question.
loll.. :D
My question is why you aren't engaging the people who did bother to answer the op in any meaningful fashion.
I think once you try atleast and than see. :)

OK, so 18 posts later, you hint that the purpose of the thread is to show that No True Scotsman isn't a fallacy? Is that your goal?

I call a person Christian when and if they believe the tenets of Christianity. As I recall, the Unabomber was a Christian. So was MLK. The Dalai Lama, however, is not.

What are the tenets of christianity according to you ? :)

Trust me.. i will say. :)
I trust you to attempt to trip me up when my list of tenets inevitably excludes some Christian or another.

I'll just cut to the chase. Religious affiliation has no bearing on whether the adherent is a good person or not.

You are whatever you wish to be. I consider myself a Christian even though I'm a heretic and considered an apostate by some Christians and all Evangelicals.

Maybe we should establish some Central Authority to license Christians. Then we could make it illegal to deny the Christianity of anyone who is certified as a Christian.

It's so much easier to identify a person if we can just examine their papers.

And who would you nominate to be this Central Authority? The debate on that should be extremely entertaining. :D

Well, I must humbly admit that I am probably the only person on the planet who could reliably turn Christians over and check their Christianity. (I once trained to be a chick sexer). But I'm too busy right now. I might be able to consult a little, though.

This reminds me of the free-speech ban which some Muslims are pressing. When I ask which religions should be protected from insult and lying, they reply 'all of them.' When I ask who will be in charge of deciding whether a particular worldview is a protected religion, they don't answer.

Ayatollah or atheist -- who should be in charge?

will you be agree ? if yes than its OK , If No, Than why ?
I'd wouldn't agree or disagree. Christian is a loose term at best, able to accommodate the needs of any wayward soul. All you really need is to talk about Jesus, who may or may not be metaphoric, and his death, which may or may not have happened. Simple, really.
