I remember Bono's line on Rattle & Hum (in the middle of Bullet the Blue Sky, IIRC?): "the God I believe in isn't short of cash, Mister."
Fun fact: Turn, Turn, Turn was written by Pete Seeger (based on Ecclesiastes, of course), who identified as an atheist earlier in life and apparently later became a pantheist or panentheist (I think... based on quotes he gave about his religious beliefs) and a UU.
I just threw up in my mouth a little. They over played the same two songs over and over and over again on the radio back in the late 90's/early 2000's.
There was also Jars of Clay and DC Talk that had some mainstream air time for a while.
